How can you check for last minute FP changes when you already have three booked?

I'm trying to book an FP for Flights of Passage at AK for mid-June, but of course all of the FPs are already taken. I have three booked already, but one is a throwaway I want to replace with Flights of Passage if it becomes available. I have the throwaway booked because it's a mid-morning FP and I figure that way I'll have all three of mine used up for the day (even tho I won't actually be using the one) by noon and can try to get a fourth FP at that point for Flights of Passage while on site at the park.

However, the Disney FP software won't let me even check for FP's with three FPs already on hold. Has anyone found a way around this? I don't want to cancel my mid-morning FP indefinitely because I'm afraid all the morning FPs will book up, even for the not-so-appealing rides, once FPs are open to those in the 30-day window.

I know, but that takes a few extra minutes. I'm trying to search many times a day in the hope that one opens up. I will do it that way, if I have to, but I was hoping there might be a "secret" way in that I was unaware of as a noob.

Do people have a "throwaway" in the MK?

Plus, regardless of whether you have a "throwaway" the system won't show you anything that comes up in the time frame of the other 2.

It shows me the times when I already have FP's booked, but they're outlined in black and it won't allow me to click on those to book. But I can see the times available.

@tazmad make sure you don’t already have a tier one booked otherwise the system may never show available times for Flight of Passage.

When you hit the button to modify it will tell you that these guests need attention. Pick each guest and remove them from the party. It will hold the spot but allow you to make changes. Also the tier tips hold very true.

When I was looking for a FOP FP, I already had NRJ booked. I then would click on modify and select all my guests who needed the FP and the system automatically told me what Tier 1 was available if any.

I haven't booked a tier 1. Touringplans says if I do the pandora river ride first, the wait is only six minutes, so there's no need for an FP

Only if you are there at the start of 7 am EMH. By regular opening at 8 am, the standby wait for Na’vi River Journey can be close to 2 hours. (We were there shorty after regular opening time last month and the standby wait was at 105 minutes and creeping upward.)
