How can we make the best Disney resort?

So there's been a lot of fire coming from us people on the forums following the D23 expo. Disney imagineering has lost its way, turning to what is popular rather than what is good. This has led them to put IPs where they don't fit, take away good attractions, and they have no clear plans on what they shall be doing. No new parks. No updates on working projects. They're keeping us fans on our toes, and they've already lost so many of us because of their decisions.

I know I've been trying to put together another Sydney Disneyland-style project, but never have been successful. I'm not asking for that (although I'd be happy to take part in a project like that if it comes around), but I would like to know what makes a resort like Disneyland/Disney World so timeless. How can we make a resort like that? Many people on the forums say that we have more creativity than the actual imagineering group. Let us see if that is true.

To be fair, d23 felt like they were at least attempting to reclaim ground… too bad they were only looking at the absolute worst examples of the recent past to see what was wrong. The flaws of the less bad stuff are still apparent. As for that… DL didn’t have mono-IP lands except maybe Mickey’s Toontown Fair. That could be a good starting point.
