Expect all of the parks (except AK) to be competely mobbed. I was at MK on the 4th two years ago and I've never seen so many people in life. There were half hour waits for fastpasses and most of the major attractions waits were 1hr+. Space mountain and Splash mountain where 2hr+ for most of the day. The only plusses are the spectacular fireworks and the longer park hours. I woudn't do it again but if you are going to go make sure you have a plan and get the the parks early!!! Good luck.

I am always there during the 4th of July.....you need to basically go to the park in the morning and stay the whole day into the night because they have to end up closing the park do to the crowds!!! its crazy

DW30th,
I went last year and it wasnt bad AT ALL, some rides did have over an hour wait, but only the big attractions, and with fastpasses they could have been easily avoided, it was probably because of 9/11 since the travel buisiness took a HUGE hit last year. But, i think because of whats going on with our country and our economy it wont be bad this year again, in fact, im going during the 4th this year!

Was there July 4th 2000 and it was not bad at all. Having always gone in Easter and Christmas breaks, it was much nicer this time around. We went to MK in the morning and went on as much as possible. Went back to the Resort by 11...no matter when we vacation, we never stay at the parks from 11ish till 4ish.

That night we went to Epcot for Illuminations, had a dinner at The Living Seas, then watched the fireworks from Norway on a bench. We were there with our grandparents, 6 of us total, and it was nothing nealry as bad as most say. Pace yourself and its fun. And we had grandparents with us, slower walkers and stuff, and it was still not bad.

Now New Years 2002-03 at Epcot in pouring rain, soaked through, huddled inside the Mexico pavilion with hundreds of others is a totally different story..........

That night I was huddled under the Astro Orbiter listening to the freaing horns honking all night. We all used our "Alien"earplugs to drown out the anoayance and I celebrated teh new year there too.

I agree with this!!! I was at MK in 2000, and the crowds were'nt too bad... It's better in the off season, of course, but we weren't 'packed in' or anything...

BTW... the fireworks were GREAT!!! They had an extended show, and the castle was red, white and blue the entire time... that was a sight!

Nope. I've been to AK twice on the 4th, and it was CROWDED. Epcot and MK are by far the most crowded, though. We usually hit AK during the morning, then hit MK for the fireworks. It was so crowded last year that we had to leave Main Street and watch from the CM parking lot off of Main Street. It took us three hours to get back to our hotel that night.

Bottom line, It is crowded everywhere, even AK.

July is basically one of the busiest months, and no, you won't see that dramatic of a change, if any. There will still be crowds the next day, but that is to be expected any day in July, especially that week. Get to the parks early and go for the popular rides first. That is the best piece of advice.
