I don't mind the name but I am not sure how I feel about the fact that it looks like they dropped the episode VII from the title.

It's classic. The original trilogy had no episode numbers on promotional material. The prequels emphasized the episode numbers over the titles to make sure people were aware that they took place before the originals. I have no doubt the episode number will appear in the opening crawl, but most posters and commercials will be going with the older look of title only.
