I realized today that when I arrive next month Flogging Molly will be playing that night and I am considering buying tickets because I have always wanted to see them live.

Has anyone here ever attended a concert at the HOB in DTD? I have attended concerts at the HOB in AC, it is a fantastic concert hall and is a fun place to be. How is the HOB in DTD? Does it have a "Disney" feel to it? What is the crowd like, is it more of a local crowd or mostly vacationers?

I went to HOB multiple times during my CP; once for Thrice (maybe not quite as popular as Flogging Molly if you don't know who they are) and a few other times with house bands/DJ's. Atmosphere does not say 'Disney' at all, at least to me. I have been to other HOB's as well and they seem pretty similar. As far as crowds go, you will definitely get a mixture of locals, CP's, and tourists. And crowd levels just depend on who is playing and the day of week, just like any other venue.

The HOB in Orlando, Chicago, and Vegas (Mandalay Bay) were all the same when I went there so I'm sure it's just like the one you're used to.

I went to a show at the HOB. There is nothing "Disney" about it. It's fun but they confiscated our cameras at the door. I love the venue... I'm not a big music fan but I was about 5-6 feet from the band in the front row. It's intimate and you feel close enough to feel like you got your money's worth.

HoB is a great venue -- it's small and intimate, and Flogging Molly is great there! I see them every year when they come. They tend to sell out, though, and tickets might not be available. Oh, it's standing room only by the way.

HoB is not always 'Disney' in feel. I saw Deadmau5 there and was trampled, bumped, man-handled and stepped on all night. :dazzle: Don't get me wrong, that was an amazing night! :sohappy: It was just no different than any other venue, and the kind of crowd you will have will be dictated by the music you are going to see.

Oh man, you could go see Flogging Molly, and then hop over to Raglan Road after the show to see Creel finish out their set. Now that sounds like an awesome night!
