So we are getting married at the Grand Floridian in January 2014. The question I have is, Do they give us discounts or anything for us the 2 getting married there at any of the Disney Hotels? I think I read somehwere, that if u have 25 nights stayed at a Disney Hotel by ur guests, that us the couple get something. I could have misread it, but if anyone has info on this let me know, b/c we plan on being there for 8 days or so and it can get expensive.

They do give discounts for all guests including bride and groom that are staying in your room block. The room rates are the weekday prices. If you have a minimum of 25 nights booked the couple receive a complimentary room for 1 night. The tickets are also discounted. Once you talk to them and set the date and do the contract you will get all the info and Congrats. We are getting married there on Dec 8 2013.

Congrats... Where will your reception be?? I get in on the 7th... Being a caterer I like crashing weddings and seeing what cool stuff people do. Ha. Just kidding... But I wish they had more information available on what they do and pricing and such to make it easier to look and plan...

Thank you . Our reception will be in the grand floridian resort in 1 of the ballrooms in the convention center. They wont give you info unfortunately until you make an appt to meet with them 16 moths before. The planning is easy. All the planning will take place at ur planning session usually 4-6 months before your wedding(depending on which package you're getting). We are doing the Wishes Wedding. Congrats and Good Luck!!!

Just to make it clearer for any other brides looking for info-
At the 16 month point you call for information and are assigned a consultant. You do not have to meet anyone in person, although you can arrange for site visits at this time. That consultant will answer any and questions you may have to get the ball rolling. At the 12 month point you can be "locked in" to your venue locations. At that time your contract (LOA letter of agreement) is sent to you to sign and return with $2000 deposit.
Now a wedding planner will take over. At around 6 months you will have an in person planning session to go decide on your floral, decorations, entertainment, menu tastings etc.
