Quite shocked that nobody has mentioned this on here. Sony Pictures Animation's Hotel Transylvania will be coming to the Disney Channel as a brand new computer animated series slated for a 2017 premier.

Never thought that Disney would be interested in another animation studios' franchise. I would've thought a show like this would go to Nickelodeon or Netflix. I think it's cool. Tangled, Big Hero 6 and Hotel Transylvania. I smell something cookin'!

Why does everything on the Disney channel have to be Disney IPs? It's about time they branched out some and this is a good choice. Now if they can finally get rid Liv & Maddie. At least the put a stake through the heart of Jessie and Dog with a Blog last year.

Disney Channel has broadcasted Despicable Me on a number of occasions and has shown countless other non-Disney material on Disney programming over the years. The reason why I'm shocked is because this is an outside studio developing something for Disney. Why does everything on the Disney Channel have to be based on Disney's IPs? Because that was the direction they were going. That is one of primary reasons why Disney purchased Marvel and Lucasfilm. Anyways, regardless if it's not property of Disney's, I like this. I think they're developing quite a lineup for 2017 and beyond.

The disney channel is thank god getting such a different face for 2017. They are moving away from the awful live action kid sitcoms and getting their toes wet again with some major league cartoons again. About time.

I think this is OK, and good to feature some new cartoon shows again.

But I also think that the Disney Channel should be primarily the Disney channel. Mickey Mouse and his friends should be easy to find there; and they should show Disney feature films, past and present, at regular points in the schedule. Classic Disney programming should have a place as well. This was type of mix that carried the channel from the beginning, and gave it its name. Would still work today, not only for programming in general, but for keeping "IPs" from the classics featured in the parks also well known on TV.

I still remember alot of people hating Disney Channel in the mid 2000's due to it focusing more on live-action kidcoms during the Hannah Montana era. I remember Toon Disney before turning into Disney XD would air older Disney shows of the late 80's,90's and early 2000's. Which was also the last place I've gotten to see House Of Mouse on television. Glad to see Disney Channel is starting to slowly make some changes.

I agree wholeheartedly. The plots and dialogue to the live-action kid shows are horrendous. As I've said before, a better script could be written by a group of sixth graders at recess.

I prefer the programming on Disney XD.
