Hotel Room Deposit

I think it depends on whether you have a room only reservation or a package deal. I could be wrong, but I think we had to give one night's fee for a deposit.

For a 7 day stay at All-star sports you need a $200 room deposit. Whenever I have booked a trip with, or without a package they always wanted $200, as a deposit, and the whole thing has to be paid off 45 days before you get there. Hope that helps:wave:

Room only is one night - we just booked for room only and our deposit was $140.00 - we were told it depends on your travel dates. Room only needs to be paid upon arrival.

Last time, after staying off property & having a bad experience, we decided to switch to Pop & we only had to make a $1 deposit because we made the reservations in the morning & checked in that afternoon.

If your booking a room thru WDW service, the deposit is one night room charge. For now, the deposit for room only would be $ 77 plus tax for a non-preferred room. If your booking thru a travel agent, then you have to pay in advance according to the agent's policy.

Like the others have said, for room only, Disney requires a one night deposit. That will include tax and any extra adult fees. If you go to the Disney website and plug in all the information like you're going to book, it will tell you exactly how much the deposit will be. And as of 1/1 the starting rate for the Value Resorts is now $79 a night.

As I stated, we are going in October , you pay the rate for value, regular or peak season - that is why it will say $77 - $139 a night. Also, you pay the taxes for that first night.

Does anybody know how much the Pop Century Resort asks for their hotel room deposit? It shouldn't be more than $100 right?
The policy as I understand it:

If you book a room only though WDW reservations (phone or website) it is one night's rate plus tax. The balance gets paid upon check-in. If you book a package (room and admission or dining), it is a flat $200 with the balance due 45 days prior to arrival. Both have different cancellation policies so be sure to ask. Some discount programs, such as annual passholder, have different policies.

I beleive if you book through a travel agent that they follow Disney's deposit requirements ~ as they must forward the deposit to Disney.

We reserved rooms only at Pop Century through a TA and could only pay one night's deposit plus tax, or $111.88 during Regular season. The new reservation system does not permit paying more than the one night, nor can payments be applied prior to check in.

Here are the official deposit / modification / cancellation policy speils...

If you are on a Walt Disney Vacation Package book directly with Disney by phone or on-line more then 45 days prior to arrival....

Your deposit of $200 will be due at the time of booking. Your vacation insurance (if selected) is non refundable 14 days from the time of booking.

The balance of your package is due 45 days prior to arrival. Your travel documents will be sent after we receive full payment and are within 45 days prior to arrival.

Reservation changes occurring 44 days or less prior to arrival will incur a $50 change fee. If the change is made within 14 days of arrival you pay an additional $10 Special Handling Fee. (Note adding or modifing your Disney's Magical Express reservation will not impose any fees.)

Cancellations occuring between 44 and 6 days prior to arrival will incur a $100 penalty. Cancellations occurring 5 days or less prior to arrival will incur a $200 penalty.

For changes or cancellations occurring after travel documents have been issued, all affected travel documents must be returned before any new documents or refunds are processed.

If you are on a Room-Only Reservation book directly with Disney by phone...

Your deposit of one night's lodging with tax will be due at this time. Your remaining balance can be paid anytime in advance but is due at Check-In. Cancellations made within 5 days of arrival are subject to a forfeit of your 1 night's deposit.

If you are on a Non-Discounted Room-Only Reservation book directly with Disney by internet...

Your deposit of one night's lodging with tax will be due at the time of booking. Your remaining balance must be paid at Check-In and cannot be paid in advance. Cancellations made within 5 days of arrival are subject to a forfeit of your 1 night's deposit.

If you are on a Discounted Room-Only (excluding Passholder offers) Reservation book directly with Disney by internet...

Your deposit of one night's lodging with tax will be due at the time of booking. Your remaining balance must be paid at Check-In and cannot be paid in advance. Cancellations made within 45 days of arrival are subject to a forfeit of your 1 night's deposit.

If you are on a Passholder Discounted Room-Only Reservation book directly with Disney by internet...

Your deposit of one night's lodging with tax will be due at the time of booking. Your remaining balance must be paid at Check-In and cannot be paid in advance. ALL Cancellations are subject to a forfeit of your 1 night's deposit.

Other notes...

If you book any type of Reservation booked by a Travel Agent, Wholesaler, or other third party Agency you may be subject to additional fees and costs imposed by your booking agent in addition to any of the above fees imposed by Disney.

If you are booking a room-only reservation for same day arrival, we require a credit card to guarantee your stay, but it is NOT charged during the phone call. Your full balance is due upon check-in. If you fail to check in, your card will be charged a penalty of one night's lodging with tax. Same day reservations cannot be cancelled.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Well, that is nice to know. I am getting ready to book a room only reservation! I need to hurry and do it, because it is going to be an August trip...that translates into full parks and full hotel rooms!!!!
