Hotel rip-offs?

Am I doing something wrong here? Normally when we go to Disneyland Paris we stay at the Holiday Inn because its smart and modern with a free bus service.

We are going for a weekend n March, and thought for a change we'd try and stay in the Disneyland Hotel. We've stayed in most of the other Disney hotels, but never that one. So this morning I rang Disneyland to get a room-only reservation for the Disneyland Hotel. We have "Fantasy" annual passes, and will probably upgrade that to a "Dream" pass this time.

Imagine my amazement when the quote for a room comes back as £920!!!!!!!! The Newport Bay was around £450 but how on earth do they think they will compete with the Holiday Inn, which is around £110 for the two nights. OK, so you get breakfast at the Disney hotels but no way is the breakfast worth £810...

Is there something I've missed? Is there another way of getting a room at a slightly more realistic price?

its the different quality of the hotel - like going to the 'don and staying in travel lodge covent garden (eurgh) and then comparing that to say, a hilton. The hotel is the flagship disney hotel of disneyland paris... also it is right at the entrance of disneyland...

now if people are willing to pay that - more money than sense.... however check out the sequoia lodge - i loikes that place ALOT :)

Another thing to bear in mind is timing.

We stayed at the DLH in dec 2006 and only paid around £600 for 3 nights.

The best example of this is our current booking.
at the Sequoia lodge.
We got a price for 3 night from the 2nd sept and it was £800
then got a price for 3 nights on the 7th sept £600
but by going on the 11th Sept we got 4 nights for £600

Plus I'm starting to doubt anyone actually pays full price. All the stories I here people seem to be getting upgraded to the next valued hotel or from standard rooms to suites.
