Hotel Requests

I know I have read threads about requesting certain buildings at Port Orleans Riverside, but not having any luck with the search.

I am about make reservations for Port Orleans Riverside. We love the entire resort, but it seems like we are always in AB Building 35 which about as far as you can get from the main building. With two kids (who will be 4 and 18 months), it is hard to lug them back and forth for breakfast and other trips during naps and possibly late night snacks.

Is there a way to request when you book a certain Building? If not, are you able to call a week or so in advance to make a request? Anything would help so I when I call I don't mess up our reservations and get Building 35 again (which was nice, but just too far from anything).

When you call and make your reservations and upon check-in, just tell them what you just told us. That you have young children and have been before and would like to try a room in a building near the main building. It also never hurts to fax in your request, but to be honest, they will probably help you out if you only ask when you are checking in... but ask FIRST THING.

It is my understanding that some resorts no longer accept FAX requests prior to your arrival and that you need to make your request when making your reservation. I'm only aware of Wilderness Lodge not accepting the FAX request, but assume there are others. I think your request is a reasonable request and would think that it would be honored. I would also mention it again at check-in.

Also a note on room reservation/requests....
When I made my reservation a few months ago, I requested a non-smoking room followed by the importance due to my daughter's and husband's asthma. The CM imformed me that non-smoking requests due to health reasons are guaranteed

Every time I have ever made a request for a certain building when making reservations I have always been put into the building I wanted. Disney is usually very nice about that.

... Watch, now that I went and said this when I go in September I won't get the building I requested. Grrrrr!

I finally booked our vacation the the gentleman helping me was great! He put in our request and called over to the hotel to see if there was anything else he could do to honor our request. Thanks for the coaching.
