Hotel Question

Hello all,
I have a question regarding off-site hotels. We are going to be in the Orlando area for 2 days prior to our stay ot CBR. Doing Universal/Blizzard Beach etc. before our "true" vacation starts.

What I am looking for is a place to stay for 6 adults and 2 children. Is it best to stay at a hotel with 3 rooms (3 different groups of people) or is there some place we could possibly stay where we could all stay in the same suite/vacation property/hotel?

We need at least 4 beds and want to stay pretty close to Disney if possible. Needless to say we want to do this as cheaply as possible, but also do not want roaches carrying us away at night.

If the suite thing is not possible, can you help me with a hotel to stay at?
Any recommendations?

when i went with my family we stayed at a place called cypress pointe in lake buena vista -you can see the downtown disney entrance. its so close to disney. its by retaurants, a walgreens, supermarkets, gas stations, subway and more.

the layout: a master bedroom with en-suite,safe in room, walk-in closet, living room with tv, double sofa bed, huge dining table, kitchen-ette with cooker, fridge, freezer, sink, a bedroom with 2 single beds and a closet, a washer and dryer, balcony with a table and 4 chairs on it.
there is a connecting apartment which has a kitchen, double sofa bed, a double bed, a whirlpool, bathroom, closet, big tv,safe, balcony.

all rooms have fans on the ceiling and air-con.

me and my family where there when it was hurricaine francis and housekeeping came around with extra towels and bed linnen, bathroom accesories, etc.i was glad we stayed there and how they looked after my family. we where updated on the hurricaine every time it progressed.
it was cool watching francis through the windows.

there is a pool on property, mini golf, tennis courts, there is stuff for everyone. there is a shop by the pool and they do food, coffee and alot more.

if your interested let me know and i can get you more info.

Does it have to be a hotel? I know you can rent a vacation home for a week pretty cheap. The homes are beautiful, most with a private inground pool. If you want to see some of the homes I am talking about,, www.fla4u.com will give interior tours and pics. GL and enjoy your trip!!!

Im not sure when you are going as in season/rate but if it were me id mabee get 2 rooms at POP. Most suites are going to run you more that that I would think plus you would already be on property for going to BB and use Disney Transport. What are you doing for rooms at CBR? You could ofset the additional cost of the 2nd room each night bu staying at POP for your entire stay and you wouldnt have to pack up and move after the 2nd day. Belive me the day you move from one resort to another is for the most part wasted till after dinner time. We stayed at POP when it first opened and it was great with a very good Food Court.

After quickly crunching some numbers it looks like this....
CBR-in May for 5 nights 2 rooms......$1728.00
POP-in May for 7 nights 2 rooms......$1544.00

So if you think about it you can stay 2 more nights at POP for only $184.00 total.

Brian...we are going to be there the last week of June/First week of July. Becasue of the group we are traveling with, we will need 3 rooms. Actually we need 5 beds.. I am just looking for any suggestions of potential sites where maybe we could all stay at one vacation home that will allow us to stay for only 2 nights, or a fairly inexpensive off site hotel for those 2 nights . Thanks for all the suggestions!

Seeing as you are starting your trip off by going to Universal, why not stay within walking distance of the park?

Try the Fairfield Suites right next door to Universal:

http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/mcous?WT_Ref=mi_left

You can get two rooms in stead of 3, because their suites have two double beds and a pull out sofa.

That should be workable for just 2 nights.

The weeks you are going to Orlando are PEAK SEASON but I think you can get rooms here for $150 a night, which include free breakfast and shuttles to Universal and Sea World.

Join the Marriott Rewards Club before you go if you decide to stay here. You will earn points toward future stays at Marriott properites.

GOOD LUCK!

Im not much up on top of things off property so im not much help there, If you need 5 beds the values are out, the only mods that might help is POR. they have rooms with 2 dbl beds, one of which has a trundle bed which will sleep 1 for a max of 5 ppl per room and you can get adjoining rooms. 2 rooms there might be as cheap as 3 somewhere else but im not sure, only thing is you can always count on a disney room to be safe and clean. We are checking in at POR on the 7th of July.
