Say i am at the hotel room of someone who is at WDW at the same time as me. Would i be able to go in their pool, or is that strictly prohibited?

ahhhh the infamous pool hopping topic...
well...
do a search for pool hopping and you'll get the true and Disney resort answer....

BUT! Depending on what resort you are at...(SAB requires resort room key to enter) I don't see the harm in this...
Please take into consideration the other resort guests at the pool...though your visiting for an afternoon...this is their resort...if the pool is crowded...double think your idea...and don't take up a pool side chair...
be considerate....
You'll hear on these boards that pool hopping is frowned upon...but if you are going for a quick swim and especially since you are with a guest of that resort...and as long a the pool is not crowded...you should be ok...again take into consideration the other resort guests....

OK

Before I answer anything I am putting down rules now...

This thread is not a debate on whether you think pool hopping is fair or unfair, or your beliefs on the subject. This member asked a question and I do not want it to turn in to an ugly thread like these usually do. If I see that I will have to close the thread.

Please try to keep this civil...Thank You

Now to the question. No you are not allowed to use the pool at a resort you are not staying at. That is Disney's rule. Does that mean if you want you can't...no. But you aren't supposed to. Whether you choose to or not is your business. Please don't say it because it will cause people to fight over both ideas. You have the information you need, please use it wisely.

Thanks!

What about at the sister resorts? I know that if you're staying PO you can use either Riverside or French Quarter, but does that also apply for Beach Club/Yacht Club?

The Beach Club and Yacht Club share Stormalong bay. It is the pool for both resorts...so in that case you can use it because it belongs to both resorts.
