Hotel facilities/rates going down?

I'm planning a trip to Orlando and was wondering if I stay at a more economical Disney hotel if I can use the pools at the more upscale hotels? Was also wondering if people have noticed prices dropping in the aftermath of last weeks events. Thanks in advance for any forthcoming information.

The official policy is that there is no pool hopping allowed, i.e. guests from one resort using the pools at the other resorts. As far as prices dropping, I would check Mousesavers.com.

No pool hopping is the policy, but what are you chances of actually being caught? I've never been asked anything by any disney staff when i was near a pool.

Neither have I, but there are some people on this board who have been asked..... So, my advice is that you will probably get away with it once or twice, but don't make it a habit.

Buy a park hopper pass. Skip the pool hopping and spend your time at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon. Much more fun and no worrying about getting busted.

I am a notorious pool hopper, been to every pool in the world except the ones at the all-star resorts and the Caribbean resort. I went down 3 weeks ago and stayed at Port Orleans(FQ) for half our stay. While we were there, we went to the new AKL pool, the new poly pool and the new GF pool. We use the resort towels and everything, we have never been busted. But we did encounter something new, we asked where the towels were at the POLY. The lifeguard said we needed a resort ID. So I went around the corner to the other pool and grabbed a bunch of towels from the cabinet, no one was checking ID's, nothing, went back and we swam at the new pool with our POLY resort towels.

I have only stayed at Fort Wilderness, the Contemp, the Poly, disney village villas, and PORt Orleans, but I have swam in almost every pool in WDW.

I can't be the only one!
