Horseback riding in Disney World

Hi there, whilst out for a drive with Mrs M and our little dog today we saw some horses. I then bored Mrs M to death with stories of how when younger I used to enjoy horseriding and how relaxing it could be. I then recalled that I vaguely remember hearing Disney did riding excursions and my friend the internet provided me with this link to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch in Disney.

It looks nice but I wonder if anyone here has tried it or can answer the following. Firstly there are no prices listed, to save me making a trans Atlantic call what are the prices? Also is the trail in direct sunlight or relatively shaded? And Mrs M has never even touched a horse, let alone rode one before. Could they accommodate a novice like her or do you need some experience?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated or any reviews from those who have tried it would also be very welcome. Thanks in advance :)

$46 for 45 ride. When I last did it, we were in the woods for a good portion of it. Yes they help with beginners. I had never ridden a horse before.

Hey there, thanks for answering. A bit more pricey than I expected but as a one off for something new and different I might give it a go. Did you have to have somebody walk alongside the horse and lead it? Mrs Mergatroid would want that whereas I definitely wouldn't, do you have a choice?

For the most part you sit on the horse and it walks you along the trail. Nobody leads the horse, but you're not doing much steering either. The horses do this every day. They know the routine.

There is a guide in the front and one in the back but no one walks along the side. My horse was stubborn. It would stop and not want to go and would want to go its own way. It was fun

Amazing that the lawyers still allow something like this, given that even the tamest animal is more unpredictable than an audio-animatronic.
