This was my favorite ride in all of Disney World. It was a ride loved by all and they had the nerve to take it out. The last time I went to DW was in 1997, during their 25th anny. This is when I found out they'd be closing Horizons. I went on the ride 6 times that trip, lol.

I wish Disney had auctioned off the robots from that ride, lol. I would have bought a few.

There are two scenes from Horizons on the new WDW Planning DVD.:D

Someone must have forgotten to tell them it closed years ago.:(

I remember, not too long ago, I heard a girl say "My favorite ride at Disney World is the one where they take you through the futuristic places, and you got to pick your own ending. I can't remember what it was called, though. I think that it started with an 'H'."

I felt kind of bad for her.

I don't see what the big deal was with Horizons to begin with. It was a ride. It was there. It was something to do. I don't get it. Maybe I was really too young to understand Horizons.

When I went to Epcot the first time with my parents, it was 1986. I was 12 years old. I remember riding on Horizon then.

Then, in 1996, me and my ex-fiancee went (this believe it or not was my first trip to Disney without the parents) to Epcot and rode Horizons. I was 22 then and I did understand the concept of the ride, but still, me and my ex looked at each other and said, "Umm.. that was interesting..." But, I do remember the Test Track sign in front of the building that said "TEST TRACK COMING SOON 1997" :)

Then I went back to Disney in 1998 with my folks again for my 24th b-day. That's when we saw the sign that Horizons was closed. I think they were running it on a shortened schedule back then. I can't remember.

Sure, its a shame to see a part of Disney history gone, but with all good things... they must all come to an end.

Now.. this Project Gemini B.S. I think I'll boycott Epcot. Spaceship Earth to Time Racers? Ummm.. they need to leave stuff the heck alone. :(

At least you knew it was your last trip on Horizons "HorizonsFan." The fam. and I did not know it was our last trip to Nowhere in Particular with Mr Toad. If we did know, we def. would have taken a picture or 2, haha.

It does make sense i guess. It was late, we got stuck for 45 mins on 20,000 Leagues and were fed up with waiting under water in that cramped submarine space. It was supposed to be our last ride of the night. As soon as we "were rescued" I made us go on Mr Toad's b/c 20,000 Leagues was a bust, and we needed to end on a good note. And there was NO LINE, nor do I rememebr ever waiting overly long, but I was young at the time.
