Horizons - A crazy idea?

So I was thinking the other day about Horizons, and then I had an idea. At first, it sounded like a crazy idea, and indeed on the subsequent times I thought about it, I still thought it was crazy. I still think it's crazy now. Nonetheless, I feel I should share it with you.

I wonder if it would be possible somehow to recreate this beloved ride through crowdsourcing. For those not aware, Wikipedia has an article as to what crowdsourcing is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crowdsourcing

I know it's a ridiculous idea and will never ever work, but I figured I could share it with the good folks of WDWMagic.

(Additionally, the crowdsourcing idea could be applied to any beloved ride from the past; Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, the original Imagination etc.)

Mr Toad would be a much easier effort.

The problem isn't the scenes on Horizons, its the elaborate ride system...remember the cars were hanging from above.

I think we'll soon have the next best thing...Horizons Resurrected (horizonsresurrected.com) with a full Oculus Rift (VR headset) experience

Someone beat me to it. HorizonsResurrected.com is about the closest we will ever get to a revival. Looks great so far! Imagine how it will look as the tech to render graphics gets better!

I have been following him for a few years now. It has been fun following the progress.

Build it. I would prob ride :)
That firm commitment is something I am sure sent the entire Imagineering staff to the drawing board to get the wheels in motion. Speaking of which, World of Motion can be the next big project after that one. I might stop in and check that one out as soon as they get it built, or whenever I get there next. ;):joyfull:
