I was wondering how much audience participation is involved a HDDR? Is it a sit at your table and be involved? or do they tend to pick individuals out to get up and be involved with the show?

Thanks!

If you're having a birthday or anniversary, they'll come to your table and sing to you, and they usually tlak to everone to see where they're from. There is also a play of sorts that goes on at the end of the show that they always recruit people for out of the audience. It's really a lot of fun!

Definately a pick individuals from the audience. We have attended for many birthdays and even for my wedding anniversary. It's a great show and we love the atmosphere. If you like to laugh and have a good time, don't miss this show. My husband loves the fried chicken!

We like to laugh and have fun. We're just not big on the participating, DH & DS14 especially. I would really hate to put us(since I'm the one doing all the planning) in a position for one or two of our party to be uncomfortable. It could make for a less enjoyable time for the remainder of the trip. I think I've about talked myself out of this for this year. Nothing like second guessing......:brick:

We've gone to the HDD several times and it's now a must-do on our trip each year. My husband would rather die than be taken up on stage (I'm 180 degrees different). Even though our table is usually close to the stage, he has never been approached. The Pioneer Hall players are pros at judging who wants to be part of the show and who wants to sit back and watch.

As far as participation from the table goes, it's entirely up to you. You clap a little, wave a napkin in the air, or use a spoon on a washboard. That's about it.

Hoop de doo is a wonderful evening and your family should indulge you, at least once, to enjoy the food, laughter, and enthusiastic performers. Tell your husband that the beer, wine, or sangria is included. That might help.
