Can ya'll talk to me about Hoop De Doo Review?

My son says that it sounds very fun, and so it seems- but I'd like to know what happens. Is it singing and stuff?

It's singing, dancing, skits, corny jokes, and great food! It's a fun evening!

My son has been going to the Hoop Dee Doo every year since he was 2, he's now 10, and he loves it!

OK...I love it too. But that's beside the point!

Really, its a lot of fun... Singing and goofy jokes. Oh, really good food too! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

We just got back from our 1st time at HDDR. My DD's really liked it. Corny jokes, decent food. Fun all around. Not something we plan to do every trip, but it was fun.

For those so inclined, it's also all you can drink beer and wine. And it flows pretty freely - last time we were there, the waitress even insisted on giving us a last round in to-go cups. Good thing we were staying on-property and didn't need to drive anywhere...

The best seating is on the floor about second row back from the stage (level 1???) but wherever you sit you will enjoy a side-splitting good time. Your cheeks will hurt from laughing!! It truly is a "whoot"!

It's a tradition with us everytime we go to the world now. One time we didn't book reservations ahead of time, and about 3 days before we left we finally gave in because we can't imagine a trip without it.

It really is good fun, and worth the money. Just give yourself enough travel time to get there, as you usually have to take a couple different forms of transportation from hotel to the hall.

We purchased the dining package and are looking to take in one "special" meal while we're there-Either Hoop De Doo or a character meal. My son seems to be wavering between eating with the princesses and the HDD. He lost all intrest in dining with Mickey and the others when he discovered they won't talk to him!

I understand that the princesses speak, but in a dining experience, do they have the opportunity to talk to EVERY kid? As far as mine is concerned, if they won't talk to him, he'd rather not do it.

Thanks for all the feedback.

We had the Princess dinner at Akershus in EPCOT and the Princesses not only spoke, but asked us all questions about where we were from, etc. Cinderella would not let our Princess #1 (18 y/0) say no to a photo and insisted that she join her sister.

Oh boy! This just makes the decision so much more difficult, but it's great news.

Thank you!

The hoop de do review is 2 dinning credits (the same as 2 regular meals.) CRT (the castle) is 2 dinning credits too. However there are a number of meals with characters that are only 1 dinning credit. You are really paying for the show. The best seats you can't use for the dinning plan, but we had seats that where on the main floor in the back (but raised up) and some of the cast members came back and talked with us during the part of the show where they do just that.

The food at Norway really isn't that good. I must say we are not going back. I have heard breakfast is better. The princess interaction is very good though.

One to consider is 1900 park fare dinner. It has Prince Charming, Cinderella and Fairy godmother (along with 2 of the mice, but they don't talk.) The food is very good, great really. It is only one dinning credit. It is at Grand Floridian.

Also 3 princess can be seen at a time if you stand in line at the tent at toon town. I suggest getting there right when it open (10) so the wait isn't too long. Your DS is going to like Goffys barnstormer too. If you can get on the 1st car you can ride with Goffy. You can also see them all around the parks at differnt times and places.

Anyway, my point is if you are on the dinning plan you don't have to do one or the other with HDDR and a meal with princess. Just not CRT and HDDR. :animwink:

Depending on when you're going to be there, this one will be undergoing a refurb later in the year. So check your dates on this one.

Hoop De Doo is a great time for everyone. We go every year, and nobody seems to be disappointed with it. The show is fun, and the food is good. It's just good, clean fun.

We did Crystal Palace (breakfast) this year for the first time, and it was a nice experience. But, it has characters that don't talk! Although, they do make noises. They would make kissing noises to my daughter and son while they were having pics made.

Did Cinderella's Royal table last year, for lunch, and the princesses did interact with the kids quite a bit. My daughter loved getting to talk to all the princesses. She talked about it for a long time, even after we got back home. The only thing that disappointed her was that Cinderella was only available for photo ops in the waiting area downstairs, before we got up to the seating area- especially since she is a HUGE Cinderella fan.
Whatever you choose, it will be good.

The breakfast at Norway is great.

I am a picky, picky, picky eater and I loved it. They bring out a large skillet with all of the traditional breakfast foods on it.

We went a few trips back and my boyfriend is still talking about how much he loved the breakfast at Norway.

It was just my boyfriend and I. Usually we get snubbed by characters because it is just the two of us. The characters generally stop for a quick picture, but don't really interact with us.

The Princesses at Norway stopped and talked to us the same amount they talked to everyone else. Which was refreshing. They asked us where we were from, etc. After that meal, my boyfriend developed quite a large crush on Snow White because she was just so nice to us.

And in regards to the HoopDeeDoo Revue for the Original Poster, I LOVE the HoopDeeDoo Revue! The chicken is great and the show is a lot of fun to watch!

We sat in the center right up against the stage, and I do say that I feel that those seats were too close. One row back would've been perfect.

Okay, I LOVE the idea that we can catch a princess meal and the HoopDeeDoo! We are going with my brother in law and his family, and they've already set up reservations for CRT, but I think I'll try and convince them to switch to the 1900.

We are going to be there from May28-June4.

How does the dining plan work with the Hoop de doo where you have to pre-pay? Will they take the meals of your plan or do you still have to pre-pay with a credit card?

When you make your reservation they ask if you'll be using the Dining Plan. If you are, they still take your credit card information, but don't charge the meal unless you're a no-show.

As an aside, the same applies for the Disney Dining Experience card, they ask for your credit info, but don't pre-bill the meal.

We went to Hoop De Doo on our first trip to the world (second one coming up this Sept! Wahoo!). We actually hadn't really considered it, but had it recommended to us by our travel coordinator so effusively, we went for it.

It was absolutely one of the highlights of our entire trip. We were on the floor, a couple rows back to the right, and we felt in the thick of the action. The food was surprisingly fantastic for all-you-can-eat, and the all-you-can-drink sangria was delicious and easy drinkin'. Even my shy hubby was singing along and clapping and grinning like a little boy. It was just wonderful.

If we didn't have such a long list of "places we missed last time that we must do this time", we would absolutely be returning to Hoop De Doo. We had it on our list, actually, but it fell off when the list got longer....I am bummed to miss it, but ya know how it goes...

My ONE and ONLY complaint was that it seemed to take forever to get there from our resort. Ft Wilderness is already pretty remote for many resorts, and then you have to catch the internal bus to get to the lodge... I am sure we would navigate it better now that we know the lay of the land better, I recommend being very clear how to get out there or take a cab, if you are at all concerned. ;)

Have fun!
