Hoop-de-doo Reservation showing on debit card?

I had reservations made today for the Hoop-de-doo Revue for next April and noticed that the full price of the tickets are showing as a pending transaction on my debit card. I know that they have to have a credit/debit card to make the reservation, in case I cancel close to the reservation, but I didn't realize that they would put anything through so that it would show on my account in any way at this time. I can understand the policy of verifying the card to make sure its valid, but it seems odd that the full amount would be put through now - theoretically, who knows what's really going to be available on the card in 6 months, when the reservation actually is? I'm guessing this will disappear and not really be charged to my account right now?

I guess I'm really confused, as we were planning on using our Dining Plan credits to "pay" for the tier 2 seating. My travel agent actually made the reservation, but I thought that it was just reserved with a CC, but you weren't charged until you actually went and that the CC was just in case you cancelled within 48 hours of the reservation, at which point you would still be charged. Is this incorrect? It wouldn't really matter if we weren't on the Dining Plan, I guess, but since we are...

Not sure, but I think that this freezes the money in your account, so that it will be there later (only enough to pay the ressie).

Policy has changed...from allears...

"As of August 29, 2004, full payment will be required in full for the Hoop-Dee-Doo, Spirit of Aloha Show and Mickey's Backyard BBQ at the time of booking. As long as you cancel up to 48 hours in advance, you will receive a full refund."

Yes
If you reserved "category 1" seats, those are not part of the DDP and you will be charged for them at the time of the reservation.

We book about a month ago for mid November and we were charged immediately. We were told by th reservation agent that we would be charged up front. If you should cancel the reservation, you credit card will be credited.

But I don't think you should have been charged if you are on DDP. We did CRT in July with the dining plan, and we were not charged. We also had reservations for Hoop De Doo, but canceled. Again, we were not charged. They did get a credit card number, though. I remember reading around that time that someone was charged, they called about it, and the money was reimbursed on the card. I think this is just a mix up.

They always charge full amount immediate. This has alwasys been the policy for this one. It is a booking not a reservation. Your tickets are printed at check in/or at any guest services window.

Cancellation....you get a refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before your reservation...if not you are charged full price.

The DDP is a different story since its already paid for.

I have DDP and was asked for a credit card for CRT and Storybook Princess Breakfast. They asked first if I was on the DDP and after that they just said it was in case I did not cancel with 48 hours of the reservation that I would be charged. Not a single penny has been paid for these two reservations and don't plan to since I am using DDP. I would have your Travel Agent call back, but you will probably have to cancel and rebook.

Checked with the travel agent - this was apparently a mistake and I should be seeing a credit on the account. She apologized profusely and said that Disney realized the mistake shortly after they did it. So, I guess that's the answer (although the credit hasn't shown up yet, but the charge is still pending, so who knows).
