Honeymooning...Help!

I am going on my honeymoon in July of 2011 and we can't imagine going anywhere else but Disney. I am a DW vet and my fiancee and I went for the first time together last year and stayed at the Floridian.

However, we realized that we would like to stay somewhere else, really because we spend more time in Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

Any suggestion? We are staying for 10 days and probably want to do a suite because it's the honeymoon and we probably won't do it again.

My questions...

Beach Club Vs. Yacht Club - We think we want to stay at one of them. I can think of nothing better than waking up and walking right into France....

I've been to Disney many times so we pretty much have an idea about where we'd like to dine and he promised that he will compromise and wear the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom hats but is there anything else honeymooners should know about?

What should we ask the travel agent or tell the Disney hotel in regard to special honeymoon stuff that the vets on this site know of?

Any fun ideas or traditions people could share?

For example, I'd like to thank the posters that let us know about the Epcot passports. We bought one at the Outpost and had a ball last year as we had a drink and appetizer in each country and then stamped our passports. LOL!

Thanks so much!
From,

Soon to be...Mrs. Toad

For something a little different.....

We booked a Wishes cruise back in 2006 for our honeymoon. I think it was about $250 back then. We had a great captain, a private boat and snacks onboard. We boarded at the Grand Floridian about 45 minutes before Wishes and were taken on a tour of the different islands, and around to the monorail resorts. There is no music piped in on the boat, but our captain parked us next to one of the more expensive cruises that did have the music so we could hear it. It was very romantic and well worth the price for us since we were looking for something a little different.

Back in 2005 we also went parasailing on Bay Lake. I can't remember what the price was, but it was a tandum sail. I think it was advertised for 10 minutes in the air but our captain let us stay up there for more than 15 minutes. The boats leave from the Contemporary Marina. It was very fun and the views were breathtaking!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Beach Club, in July 2009. We were able to get a great deal as Florida residents for Club Level and enjoyed every second of it. They gave us a huge room with a king size bed.

As far as the Beach vs. Yatch debate, I personally like the feel of the Beach Club better. The lobby, the marketplace, Cape May, ect...

Just like you guys, we love the quick walk to Epcot and boat ride to MGM.

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the suggestions and ideas. What is the difference between concierge, club level, or suites? Are any of them the same? I have no idea???

Concierge and Club Level are the same thing. Located on the 5th floor of the building. In the morning they will serve donuts, bagels, cereal, and fruit. In the afternoon they will put out lite snacks and some sandwhiches. And for the evening they will put out beer and wine with some hot food. It was nice for us since we were able to get all the alcohol, soda, and water that we wanted and the food was pretty good at the same time. Still wasn't filling for an actual dinner meal, but it was nice to have breakfast and snacks throughout the day while we were in between parks.

I'm not too familiar with the suite options, outside of those at the Beach Club Villas. I'm sure they have presidential/honeymoon suite option, but I would personally call them to ask those questions.

As far as suggesstions go, I would definitely recommend dinner at California Grille. The food was absolutely amazing (we still talk about it almost 1 year later) and the view of the fireworks over Magic Kingdom was incredible. Be prepared to shell out $100+ on the bill, but it's worth it.

Go with the Beach Club. It has a much more relaxed atmosphere. The concierge lounge there just got a bit of a facelift and is quite nice. Bright yet cozy. I have stayed at both resorts and definitely like the BC better. They recently renovated the rooms also and they look beautiful!

I have booked quite a few honeymoons at WDW and in my opinion there is no place better especially if you love Disney!

There are a lot of things for honeymooners.... his and hers massages, carriage rides, romantic dinners, a walk in the moonlight along the torch lit path from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian by the water........ so many things to do!!!!! And so many ways to make your stay romantic!

And don't forget about the honeymoon registry that disney offers!

If you need help ... feel free to look me up and send me an email. There is nothing I love doing more than helping someone make their time at Walt Disney World Magical!!!!
