Yeah it's been in and out of the news for a while. Maybe they found a fix and can bring them in now?
I can tell you that if you need to rent a car within the next month, I would reserve it ASAP. I work for EHI (Enterprise, National, Alamo) and we are getting hammered with rental car needs from the dealerships for this recall. The car rates have been skyrocketing and selling out online for the past 2 weeks because it's getting hard to keep up with the demand.
