Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan, July 12, 2006 - (JCN Newswire) - Honda Motor (China) Co., Ltd. announced a multi-year business alliance with Hong Kong Disneyland, in which Honda is named as the official sponsor of the newly launched Autopia attraction.
As part of the alliance, Honda will be the official sponsor of the Park's new and immersive Autopia attraction, which allows guests of all ages to drive to the future aboard shiny electric cars. Honda will also support the Park's "Wild About Safety Campaign" - a campaign dedicated to promoting guest safety and comfort while enjoying the Park. In addition, Honda has obtained exclusive rights in featuring the park's images to promote their automobiles, motorcycle and selected power equipment products in Hong Kong and mainland China.
The agreement was signed at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort where Honda's most advanced humanoid robot, ASIMO presented Bill Ernest, Hong Kong Disneyland Executive Vice President and Managing Director and Koji Onishi, Director & President, Honda Motor (China) Co., Ltd with the official agreement.
Mr. Onishi said, "It is our pleasure to form an alliance with Hong Kong Disneyland which is certain to create many opportunities for both brands. Honda is known for its innovation and the futuristic Autopia attraction reflects our commitment to embracing tomorrow with more out-of-this-world technology. Guests of all ages can now realize their dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland and enjoy many magical moments by experiencing our sponsored Autopia attraction."
Mr. Ernest, said, "We are excited to welcome Honda to the Hong Kong Disneyland family. Honda is known throughout the world for its commitment to quality, innovation, safety and family values - qualities that are also at the heart of the Hong Kong Disneyland guest experience. I am sure that our guests will benefit from our alliance and look forward to creative exciting marketing programs with Honda in the future."
Debuting in July, Autopia is a fun, new driving attraction for the entire family to experience "outer space" together on the cosmic highways of tomorrow at Hong Kong Disneyland. Guests will "drive to the future" aboard innovative electric cars that were created exclusively for this Park.
The Wild About Safety campaign is an educational and entertaining program using two of Disney's most popular characters - Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King. Safety messages featuring the two colorful characters are the centerpiece of the campaign with each image accompanied by a fun tagline such as "keep arms, hooves, tusks and tails inside the vehicle."
Guests will see these safety messages on tray mats at restaurants throughout the park and on the guide maps distributed at the front entrance. Cast members also have a range of eye-catching safety tip cards that guests can collect.
This is odd since i thought they would have had a 'Cars' theme, not Honda
