Anyone have any suggestions on this. I'm looking to buy a printer that 1. I dont have to hook up to a p.c, thus eliminating loading soft ware 2. I can just insert the flash card 3. has a monitor/screen to view pic before printing.

I don't need anything with a lot of bells and whistles. Just something I can take out of the box when I need it, plug it in, print/skip then go on to the next one. I guess the only real features i'm interested in is a monitor and one thats fairly quick.

If it matters, I own a Canon power shot A75. But when the price comes down a bit i'm looking to buy the S2 IS.

Any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated

Check out running costs - mainly for inks. Some machines may be a lot cheaper to refuel that others.

But if you are only interested in 6x4 prints it may be a lot cheaper and have better results to get them done in store. That's certainly the case in the UK.

there are also mixed experiences with refill kits for ink cartridges

I had good results .. but some had the ink all over the place :veryconfu

have prints done in a store, buying and using the consumables increases the cost of a single pic by as much as 50%

That's good advice. :)

It is VERY expensive to print your own stuff. And time consuming. I find it to be so much easier to upload my stuff to Walmart.com and pick it up in the store an hour later. And the quality is better than any photo printer could do, at only 19 cents a print. :)
