How much time does it take to enjoy DHS and it's attractions? We haven't been there in awhile and it sounds like it's a construction site. Any information would be great! Also, how are the different Star Wars attractions at the park now? We will be down there the first of December and bummed that the Osborne lights will not be there.

Just plan for one day. Considering you enjoy what there is to see and, like most people, you don't do everything, a day is sufficient. Also, currently, there are no new SW attractions besides the Launch Bay, which is a meet and greet.

Depends on many factors such as crowds for the day, weather, time you arrive, what rides and shows are open, whether you want to do just rides or just shows, do you want to do the big thrill rides or not, stop and admire the scenery or not, want to eat there etc It all depends on you and the people you are with to give an accurate answer. If you want to watch the fireworks and Fantasmic you'd have to stay all day anyway.

If you arrive at rope drop, you can easily get most of the park in by 1pm. If you arrive in the afternoon, you are looking at a much more substantial wait for Toy Story, RnRC and Tower of Terror.

I would dedicate a whole day but as rough estimate, but 6 hours should be more than enough, with moderate crowds that is.

Great Movie Ride - 22 Minutes Long - 10-30 Minute Wait
Muppetvision 3D - 15 Minutes Long - 0-15 Minute Wait
Rock N Rollercoaster - 1:22 Minutes Long - 40-60 Minute Wait
Star Tours 2 - 4:30 Minutes Long - 10-40 Minute Wait
Tower of Terror - 4 Minutes Long - 20-60 Minute Wait
Toy Story Mania - 6 Minutes Long - 60-120 Minute Wait
Star Wars LB - No Fixed Length - Unknown
One Man's Dream - No Fixed length - 0 Minute Wait
Beauty and the Beast - 20 Minutes Long - 0 or 120 Minute Wait
Little Mermaid Show - 17 Minutes Long - 0-20 Minute Wait
Disney Junior Live - 24 Minutes Long - 0 or 60 Minute Wait
Frozen Singalong - 30 Minutes Long - 0 or 60 Minute Wait
Indiana Jones - 25 Minutes Long - 0 or 120 Minute Wait
Fantasmic - 30 Minutes Long - Arrive 60-30 minutes before show start
Star Wars Fireworks - 15 Minutes Long - Arrive 15 Minutes before show start
Character M&Gs - 2 Minutes Long - 15-30 Minute Wait
Citizens of Hollywood -15 Minutes Long - 0 Wait
Jedi Training Academy - 20 Minutes Long - 0 Wait
HISTK Play Area - No length - 0 Wait

Attractions closed in the last few years:
-Backlot Tour
-American Idol Experience
-Lights, Motors, Action
-Sounds Dangerous
-Magic of Disney Animation/Animation Academy/Characters
-Legend of Jack Sparrow

In all seriousness, Backlot tour is really the only casualty.

Nice breakdown of what to expect for each experience! Thanks!

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I would also add Lights, Motors, Action as the casualty - really liked that show and so did my kids. But great breakdown!

In all seriousness, Backlot tour is really the only casualty.

I'd also like to add Magic of Disney animation as quite a big casualty... SOOO much time was able to be spent in here... And it was an awesome experience, especially for first timers.... Now I have to go all the way to California to get an animator to teach me how to draw Goofy.

I agree! I have absolutely no artistic talent what so ever... but I did enjoy being shown how to draw various characters! I also miss the old days of when you could actually watch some of the illustrators working on future animated releases... though I don't know that I would have been able to work knowing people were staring at me all day long. Hats off to those talented folks that could work under those conditions!

I am actually surprised that it does take a whole day to enjoy DHS. The lines can be long without fast passes, and there is quite a bit of things to do, especially if you're staying for Star Wars "fireworks" and Fantasmic ( we've been rained out though the last few times we've been:().

Star Tours is open. And it's different than the last time the OP would have experienced it, since they've gone digital and added the randomly selected sequences.

I wish they hadn't closed Magic of Animation. I would've liked to have checked it out.
Agreed! The characters that would have been in the Animation building(if it was still open)would have been
-Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootopia
-Since Sorcerer Mickey moved to his new meet & greet in his spot would have been Star Butterfly w/Marco Diaz
-Since Minnie moved to her meet & greet in her spot would have been the new spot for Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc.
-The Incredibles would have returned with Mr & Mrs Incredible and Frozone appearing regularly

Rope Drop....straight to GMR 5 minute wait (if that) then on to ToT....15-20minute wait if that. Over to RnR....use FP for 9:45-10:45am...... Stroll down Sunset Blvd..check out the stores and head over to Launch Bay....FP for TSM at about 11:15am and another FP for Star Tours at 12:15pm..Back track to Main Street for a little while and check out the stores. By about 1:30pm your done...then it's a decision on lunch at DHS or elsewhere.

(If you have small children..substitute GMR for TSM....Frozen for ToT...Ariel for RnR....Muppets for Star Tours)

Yes
I just spent a day at Studios arriving there at around 11 AM and left at closing.

It definitely all just depends on the crowds that day. My family and I were able to do all the rides, meet and greets, Fantasmic, and dinner at Sci-Fi. Although Studios is undergoing construction, it is still very enjoyable.

Where Disney has fubarred the plans is essentially making you choose between Star Wars or Fantasmic. If there is only one Fantasmic show that night, you will only be able to choose one.

As always your experience may vary. Although there is a lot going on behind the scenes, the park was clean, CMs were out of this world, and even dinner was great. Again, your experience may vary, but you could make a day out of it definitely.
