Really no rise, mania, or runaway railway? I would add those to the list for 5 rides at least but I still give the edge to universal.

It comes down to what I, personally, would do in the park. I live in Southern California. Which means rides like Rise of the Resistance, Toy Story: Midway Mania and Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway are (strangely enough) a waste of time for me and easily skippable at Hollywood Studios because I can do them whenever I want down here and my time vacationing in Orlando is finite.

Likewise, when I visit Universal Studios Orlando, I don't waste my time with Transformers - The Ride 3D. But I will ride something if it's iteration is "different" enough to feel like a new experience (like Orlando's version of Revenge of the Mummy - The Ride and The Haunted Mansion).

Hope that makes sense.

Right, you have to cancel out the clones.

I get where you guys are coming from but I also dont feel like it is a fair comparison for parks.

Because if you said Universal Hollywood vs the magic kingdom then Universal would win hands down when you cancel the clones. But in reality the magic kingdom is the better park of the two options.

Right, we are looking at them subjectively rather than objectively, I'll give you that much.

That said, this thread isn't asking us to look at things through an objective lens. It instead asks us: "Let's say that you have one single day ticket for either of these two parks, which park are you choosing?" So, I think we're being perfectly fair/playing within the rules. It's about what we want to do or what we will enjoy.

That said, I'd actually disagree with your second statement. Because even as a SoCal native, I have the following "must-dos" in Magic Kingdom:

Tomorrowland Transit Authority: Peoplemover (probably wins it for Magic Kingdom right here), Space Mountain (different enough and I love how "retro" it feels compared to ours), TRON: Lightcycle/Run, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, Astro Orbiter (in it's proper place up high for a proper thrill), The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (superior version), Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, The Haunted Mansion (again, new show scenes), County Bear Musical Jamboree and Happily Ever After (Meals at Sleepy Hollow, Columbia Harbor House and Be Our Guest Restaurant). Tom Sawyer's Island for a visit to the fort and trip down the escape tunnel would be on there, too, if they hadn't just shut it down.

That line up is way more than enough to make it better than Universal Studios Hollywood, for me anyways.

Yeah, I'd personally rather visit USH over MK, but I do find MK is still a stronger park even if it is my least favorite Florida park amongst Disney and Universal. It's pretty and has some great attractions, but like others have said, the attractions is does have are too similar to Disneyland versions and with Disneyland offering a better MK experience, I'm so unlikely to visit MK at this point because I'm flying across the country for a watered-down Disneyland experience.

However, I'm sure if I lived in Florida, I'd think the same about USH with SLOP. portions of the tram, and Waterworld being the only things unique enough to warrant a visit.
