Rockit wins by default, because I don't have one of my shoulders & arms pinned up against the side of a vehicle that's way too small. I also don't enjoy inversions.

Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, BUT, I don't think either ride is great. I used to love Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but it has aged rather poorly, both in the sense that the onboard theming is "late Eisner-era cheap" and that it has become clunky with age. Also, when's the last time Aerosmith even did anything? The saving grace is that I think it still has one of the best coaster launches. The launch packs a much stronger punch than any launch at Universal, or the rest of Florida really, and launching into the unique-ish "sea serpent" roll is one of the best starts to any coaster. The ride would benefit massively from new trains with modern restraints and a potential retheme (still music themed!) with enhanced visuals.

Rockit, well, it's an okay ride in the front row only, and night rides are pretty nice. Any other row and it will jar you around without even going through rapid transitions. It has an awkward layout with too many block zone stops. I'm not one to complain about visible coaster track, but Rockit is hideous and ruins the aesthetics of the front of the park. Its constantly chattering lift hill also ruins the atmosphere of the main plaza. The queue for Rockit is atrocious and about as "Six Flags" as it gets. It, too, is outdated because they never updated the official playlist from 2009, which even then had some laughably outdated songs like Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'" from 2000 (which is different from, say, ZZ Top, as Limp Bizkit was a late 90's/early 00's fad and not timeless).

Counterpoint to RNRC having best launch in Orlando- have you ridden Velocicoaster? The launches, especially in front row, literally took my breath away.

Yes to both. The first launch on Velocicoaster is relatively weak, and the second one has a rolling start. Neither of them are as intense as Rock 'n' Rollercoaster's takeoff.

I rode Rockit once and felt like I was going to fall out (at the time I didn't weight a lot and was very thin)--the restraint system was terrible and I couldn't get the lap bar tight enough. At least with RnR, I feel secure in it. I enjoy the Aerosmith music a lot more than I did Rockit (couldn't get my music selection to work). Even with the dated scenes on RnR, I always leave the ride with a big smile!

Well your in for a shock. The industry is moving away from the painful restraints you feel secure in. Velocioaster is a great example. Feeling like your going to leave the car via G forces is part of the thrill. Over the shoulder restraints are not only painful via head bashing but restrict your bodys movement. Mako is a great example as well. The airtime is amazing.

But to be fair both coasters are meh. One is an old vekoma showing its age with horrid trains and a no longer novel gimmick (the launch) the other is an awful design when it comes to loading and ubloading. To your point these restraints are wierd and make little sense. See veloicoaster or mako for proper restraints. People are terrible at getting on rock it as it requires tight dispatches to get anywhere near its potential capacity. In real life its capacity is hot trash. Its also just too much of a normal coaster. Mid brake runs are so 2005. The select your own music bit is also clunky and often un used by the general public. A waste of effort. Finally its just not that great to look at. I will say it looks nice towards the end when it wraps out toward city walk but the entire outher half of the ride is an eye sore.

In closing rock n roller coaster is the better ride. It has done it's intended purpose far better. I also agree that the music fits better.

That was my experience too. I'm not big either and on that vertical uplift I was certain I was going to slip out and plummet to my doom. I screamed for help and clung on for dear life...

I think RRR is the better ride. It throws more at you. RnRC peters out a bit after the admittedly awesome first half.

For overall experience RnRC wins. Something about it just works, it all comes together. Cheap, off-the-shelf, overtly pop-culture, as such outdated upon opening, doesn't connect well with its surroundings - all true. But as a standalone experience I do always have a fun time with it.

RRR is an awesome ride. Bit Six Flag-y. But better than its reputation. Plus you can see SSE from the top of loop!

I didnt know you could see SSE! i need to look next time. I feel like RNRC does its job better but RRR is a better ride technically but does its intended purpose worse.

Just go to Bar 17, beautiful view of SSE and fireworks from all the parks.

Thats the top of adventura? Right? I have never been there. Just stayed at cabbana bay a week ago. Loved the indoor rooms as an aside. Only have been the motel wing rooms in the past.
