What are we thinking here for the next wave of FLE openings?

Holidays 2012 = Oct 1st
Holidays 2012 = Late Oct for Halloween
Holidays 2012 = Mid-late Nov/Thanksgiving
Holidays 2012 = December/Christmas

I'm going with the next phase to be open by the first MNSSHP (9/11 how fitting), at least soft openings barring any setbacks hence the generic holidays 2012 announcement. Official ceremony 10/1.

That is not until 2014. Holidays 2012 phase is Beauty and Beast area and Ariel. Rest of Circusland opens next few weeks.

The most recent thing I've seen from Disney was in the DVC newsletter, it said "late 2012" giving themselves plenty of wiggle room

Oh! I understand why is so long to opening the Seven Dwarfs mine ride?

That's a whole conversation in itself. People on these boards point to not having direct access to continue construction with everything around it open. Also it gives Disney another reason to get people to MK in '14.

Yeah that's where I was going with starting this thread. To see what people thought that meant. And if any insiders wanted to weigh in...

Holidays 2012 = October through January 1. I don't think Disney even knows at this point when it will open. I am sure they have an internal target, but with a construction project this complex anything can happen to through off that date.

It's also a brand new ride system so it's likely that it will go through a lot of testing and adjustment before it can open. Also, as you can see by the steel structure it's going to be a pretty big mountain.

Late 2012 to me definitely means after Halloween. I'd guest the earliest it will be open is around Thanksgiving though if they really get behind (very possible) Christmas will be it. I could see them doing a bit of a celebration that it's open for Christmas. I really don't think Halloween is going to happen.

Expect the 2012 portion to be done before the taping of the Christmas Day Parade as they will be showcasing a lot of that - taping usually occurs by first weekend of December, but assume they will want to work out the kinks a few weeks prior to filming.

I knew I forgot the parade. I would think it will be open for sure by then. So soft opening November, leaning towards middle and Thanksgiving. They probably want it open for the Thanksgiving crowd too.

I truly hope this doesn't happen but we could experience an active hurricane season with several strikes around WDW that could cause delays and even setbacks. I think Disney is being very smart by being vague.

I think that Disney is hoping to open right before Thanksgiving. As someone else said - Central Florida's summer weather will play a big part in how much work they can get done on any given day... For example - it rained this entire past week...I am sure progress was minimal at best.

I also hope they are scrambling to get as much of mine coaster done as they can before they take the construction walls down and limit their work time on it. While I know they are projecting 2014 for it, I think it would do them well to go ahead and open it as soon as possible... Maybe couple it with the M&G at the end of 2013.

My point was that they don't seem to have set dates for anything, Storybook Circus just opened out of the blue one day, there was never any official word about it except that they started printing pictures of it on the maps, and last week there were pics inside the Dumbo queue, it looked ready to me but there's no official word on that either, just rumors about July...

Personally I wouldn't expect to hear anything about LM and BatB too far in advance, except that they did go from the really vague "Holiday Season" to slightly less vague "Late this year" and that's the most specific thing from Disney thus far

And not to be a smart aleck, but I'm assuming that "Late This Year" is code for "We'd really like to have this open for the Christmas rush, but unfortunately at this time we're not 100% sure it'll be ready by then, so instead of potentially disappointing thousands of our fans around the world who come here at Christmas we're simply saying that it'll be open "Late This Year", and if for some reason it's not open "Late This Year" it'll certainly be open "Early Next Year"

When I heard Holidays 2012 I assumed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Other threads in the News and Rumors are saying the BATB area may be ready this summer. Holidays 2012 could mean Labor Day for all we know...
