Holiday Inn near WDW

I was rate surfing yesterday and looked at the Holiday Inn near DTD. The rates there are great and it looks to be practically on property. So, a couple of questions for those who know:

1. Is there any type of complimentary transportation offered by HI to and from the parks?

2. If you have stayed there, how did you like it?

In the past we have always stayed at a Disney resort and I know all the good and bad of going that route. The difference in cost definately makes you want to take a look.

Thanks Nelly! I thought I had looked the site over trying to find just that and had no luck. I need to go back and do some more looking.

We stayed there it is a nice place to stay. You do have to pay for parking seperate. They have self service parking but you still have to pay for it. They Disney bus line will pick you up and take you to all of the parks or DTD. I had people tell me you could walk to DTD from there but no way I would even try it from all of the traffic. Plus you get Holiday Inn rewards and normally they give bonus points for staying there.

We always stay at the Doubletree right down from the Holiday Inn. Parking there is 12.00 a day, and they have bus service. The difference in price, for what you get, is well worth staying there. The rooms are very large. Every room has a small kitchen area with microwave, fridge, sink, and table and chairs. It's just been refurbed. There are two TV's and bi-fold doors between the bedroom and the rest of the room giving good privacy. The pool is small. You don't get extra hours or DME.

I called the hotel. There is a $10 per day parking fee ($16 if you choose valet). There is no resort fee. They have buses that run every 30 minutes to all the parks. If you buy tickets only from WDW, do they cost more if you are not staying on property as part of a package deal?

No. We always buy our tickets separate. Once you hit four days, each day after is very inexpensive.

I pretty sure Holiday Inn is in the group bus route. When we stayed at Doubletree, we had to stop at three other resorts on our way back. Also, those buses don't go straight into the mk parking lanes. They go to the TTC and you have to monorail or ferry over.

Was that a lot of difference in time vs. the Disney buses?

Not really. It actually took less time to get out of MK from the TTC than it takes for the Disney buses to get out.
And, I never once had to stand going or coming. On the Disney buses, I have to stand at least half the time.
It only takes them a minute to drop people off. As far as going to the parks, being at Doubletree was quick because they are last on the stop so the bus heads straight to the park, but coming home we were last taking a little extra time.
