Holding Up a Sign?

Hi All!

My sister in law is running in the Pittsburgh Marathon tomorrow. Since we won't be there to cheer her on, DD & I made a sign with crayons & paper in our hotel room last night. It's little, the size of a piece of paper, and it says "Go Val!". No logo's or brand names or anything like that. We asked a photopass photographer to take our picture holding it on Main Street to send to her, and he said no. He told us we can't hold up any signs for pictures. I didn't ask why, but now I'm just curious. Anyone know why this wouldn't be allowed? Thanks! :)

Being a WDW CM something about that just doesn't seem right to me.

Now I could see there being a policy of no logos, but just for that little crayon drawn sign?

Did you get in touch with management?

I think I would have gotten a random stranger to take the picture on my phone at that point... and then asked a manager for clarification about why your request couldn't be fulfilled. That's just not logical. How is that any different than if the words had been on your shirt?

Okay I'm glad this confused other people! My husband just took the picture of my daughter and I himself. I didn't ask management, I just kind of said okay and took it ourselves. And then later wondered what that was all about! I had never heard that policy before.

But they allow you to get characters to hold up drawings and stuff so I don't understand why that would be a problem

Exactly!! We held up a Pittsburgh Steelers towel a few years ago and it was fine. He didn't look at my sign, I explained what it was and he just said no signs of any kind are allowed. Maybe its a new rule. I don't know, was baffled too.
