HMH: Is 2005 The Year?

Wouldn't a decision have been made by now and some announcement been made? Maybe it is too early in the year, but I would think an announcement should be coming soon, right?

Hey guys,

I don't know if this means DL will have the popular Haunted Mansion Holiday make over at all this year, but according to DisneyGallery (official information), DL will not be hosting the HMH Event to focus on the 50th anniversary celebration. Do you think this means it is now being given to WDW and we will host HMH this year???

:D

That's not what it means at all. It was decided last year that there would no longer be HMH Merchandise events. Perhaps people finally wised up that it wasn't worth it to spend very large sums of money to be "allowed" to come in and spend large sums of money on very over-priced "limited edition" merchandise. This will not effect Disneyland's Haunted Mansion overlay - the event has absolutely nothing to do with it.

The Florida Mansion is a different layout, has different scenes and is a completely different building exterior. You can't just share the set up from one Mansion to the other.

If you look at the attraction closings for Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion is slated to be closed for the HMH overlay. There's just no merchandise event this year, though there may still be an RSP and Limited Edition merchandise.

Right, Artdude... I don't think this means the Haunted Mansion Holiday WON'T be at Disneyland. Rather, the page is announcing that the Haunted Mansion Holiday MERCHANDISE Event will not be held this year.

We've kind of been discussing this in another thread...

WDW won't get HMH this year...almost got it last year but Stitch got in the way, so Tokyo got the WDW version.

Maybe next year.

Whew.... It feels like I dodged the bullet on that one! My family will be going to DL later this year, just in time for the overlay, and I was really hoping to see this! Good thing its still on! I would have been really dissappointed!

However, it would be great to see this at wdw. Hopefully, they wont come out with ANOTHER stitch ride (lol) so that someday it will come here, even if its not in the near future!

I would think with the recent refurbishment of IASW would make it the ideal candidate for the holiday overlay. Especially with the updated audio system.

A few sources have said that HMH will start being done at WDW this year.

Tokyo didn't get our HMH--Tokyo's HMH is its own HMH. WDW will be its own as well.

Check out Doombuggies.com. They have a good assortment of info and pictures, probably sounds too, on the HMH overlay.

I think WDW's Haunted Mansion could really use this, or at least a general refurbishment. Last year each time I went on the ride, the sound rarely worked properly throughout the entire ride, usually cutting out around the Graveyard scene. I think they need to fix the speakers or something with the sound, because it always sounds like the "Ghost Host" is talking to you over a two-way radio.

::kkkhhhtt:: This is your Ghost Host, 10-4, Over! :kkkhhhtt::

Disneyland's got a few additions as well. Their Madame Leota crystal ball now floats around, and their morphing paintings were updated.

I really think it's in DL best interest to have no holiday overlay for the haunted mansion this year, since everyone will be going to see the new effects and celebrate the 50th.

Let's see what Corrus has to say.

And if he's wrong, we'll flog him with a wet Terrace Noodle endlessly
