HKDL merchandise in WDW?

Since HKDL opens on the 12th I was wondering if there would be any opening day commemorative merchanidise stateside. Does anybody know if this is planned?

Only six days left before I make my triumphant return to WDW! :sohappy:

I would LOVE that! My daughter went to Hong Kong earlier this summer and I asked her to bring me something back, thinking that they would have a welcome/preview center at the airport. She went through too quickly with her group and did not see anything. She did say the bus that will take tourists from the airport to HKDL was very cool. The windows are shaped like Mickey Mouse! She also said that Hong Kong is very much welcoming Disneyland to their area.

As far as the merchindise, I doubt they will have anything. But I will be down in December and purchising some if they do!

I managed to pick up a HKDL t-shirt from a shop on Mainstreet back in 2002!

It is a plain white t-shirt with Mickey Mouse on the back. It has Hong Kong Disneyland written underneath, then a line of Chinese letters and the the words "The magic begins!"

I have never worn it - I bought it from the shop on Mainstreet that sells Pal Mickeys, there was a small section over in the rear corner that also sold t-shirts from Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland.

LOL!! When I bought mine, HKDL was still in the early stages... I figured that it would become a collectors item if the park was never completed!

HKDL Merchandise

I didn't see any HKDL merch when I was there, but I did see the Disneyland Paris t-shirts and postcards.

I have a HKDL pin which I got as a gift before a group of the representatives went back to HK.
