Hints or tips for Mardi Gras

I've not been to universal in over 15 years. I plan on attending Feb 15th for BNL at Mardi Gras but that is also President's Day weekend so I am going to guess that I will be very crowded... I've read about the after 5pm park pass for this.. will this give us enough time to do an attraction or two? Simpsons, Minion Ride possibly Transformers?

Any tips or hints any one can offer?
