Planning a trip for May 2026. Baby due on Christmas day. I feel like its a bit too early for WDW (lmk if you disagree and why) Considering Hilton Head or Vero beach instead. which would you choose for mom, dad and baby and why?

I have never stayed at Vero, but have been to Hilton Head.

With a 5 month old, I would not worry about entertainment for the baby. It's more about things you can do with him/her that are easily adaptable. If you do want to go to the beach, then I would say Vero Beach, since getting to the beach in Hilton Head is more difficult. If your baby starts to get cranky on Vero Beach, it is a lot easier to go back to the room than it is to do so from Hilton Head.

But Hilton Head does have a lot of things you can do, that if necessary, can easily be modified based on your baby's mood or needs.

If you plan on going out and about off of the resort on Hilton Head, then definitely a rental car with a car seat is needed.

Hilton Head is more remote - aka further from shopping/hospitals/emergency care which may be a factor to consider when traveling with an infant.
Vero Beach is a more compact resort, closer to the resort restaurants, beach, etc. - Hilton Head you'd need to shuttle or walk pretty far to get to the beach (when factoring in a baby). I think its close to a mile

Vero is probably the "easier" option - and in May it will be warmer than SC as far as Ocean temps go

Vero looks awesome.

however, we took our 3 month old for a full Disney World Trip.
it was very easy, it was different and an adjustment to our normal park days but was just as fun!
