I just want to clarify you are supposed to find these stupid, Tangled and frozen were once Rapunzel and The snow queen. Its a commentary on how ridiculous this new naming system they got going on for films in order to make them "Gender Neutral". If we were to apply the same kind of logic to the past films this would have been the end product.

I think they're just trying to be hip with the one word ambiguous titles, although they're pretty late catching on to this "trend." Grunge bands were doing this 20 years ago, and even in my profession economists were publishing journal articles with one word titles back in the 90s.

I think they're just trying to be hip with the one word ambiguous titles, although they're pretty late catching on to this "trend." Grunge bands were doing this 20 years ago, and even in my profession economists were publishing journal articles with one word titles back in the 90s.

They aren't trying to be hip! Let me tell you how it all started. So after their return to 2d animation and fairy tales with princess and the frog Disney expected that they would make a really good profit. They made a good profit, but unfortunately it was not close to the numbers they wanted (The film made a return of about 267 million.). So the boys upstairs were scratching their heads as to why this was, could it have been the music which was done by Randi Newman instead of Alan menken? The fact that audience's no longer see 2d animation in the theaters? Or even the fact that Tiana was african american? And some countries are still pretty behind in that department? The answer they came up with was that the title of the film turned boys away from seeing it, because It was the PRINCESS and the frog. So with the next animated fairy tale film to be coming out soon the marketing department decided to make a last minute change to the title, from Rapunzel, to Tangled.

The movie was everything they hoped for in terms of sales numbers and merchandise. Which can be totally attributed to the fact that Alan menken wrote the songs for the film, The film was done with 3d animation something audiences now see as standard for animated flicks, and the film had a protagonist that would unfortunately sell a lot more dolls world wide than the previous film. Add in the fact that glen keane was in this project and things are sure to be golden. But the execs saw how well this film did with a name change, so they applied the same logic to The snow queen, and changed it to frozen. So the final question is what is the issue then? The issue is that a film that has a female lead in the title are the ones to get the name change to become gender neutral. Wreck it ralph didn't get neutralized to become Wrecked. We could even apply the same bs excuse they gave for making rapunzel in tangled, Wreck it ralph is as much about Vanellope as it is about Ralph. The trend only seems to be for fairy tale films with the name of a female protagonist in the title, when you do that you send across a message. One I don't agree with.
