High Spiel Attractions

Hey all! I just got accepted to the WDWCP. My sister gave me the email address of her boss's boss (the person who has the final say on who is accepted ). I wanted to find out where I would be working. Due to my extensive acting background they said I would be in "High Spiel Attractions".

I was wondering what the "High Spiel Attractions" were? The ones that come to mind are:

Jungle Cruise
Backlot Tour
Great Movie Ride
Living with the Land
Kilamanjaro Safari (sp?)

Are there any that I've missed, or does this also include attrations and 3D shows that just say "no eating, drinking, smoking or use of flash photography?"

Thanks...

Great Movie Ride
Universe of Energy (since you have to interact with Ellen)
Anything in Innoventions
Millionaire (have to go through casting, so doubt it)

That's all I can think of. Have fun!

Boy do I want to go into the WDWCP....

I can see it now...

Testtrack does.... Test Track!

congrats on getting accepted, my 4 months as a cp were unbelievable. I worked at Innoventions, im not sure if that would be considered high-speil or not, usually the CPs dont do the longer shows like House of Innoventions or Segway. My speil was only about 3 to 4 minutes of actual talking. I always wanted to be Jungle Cruise skipper, theres something about really dry humor...

Go for it and have fun...this gives me my chance to vent about arguably my biggest regret...in 1986, me and some other college friends interviewed in Philly for the WDWCP....we were accepted, me as "attractions host", they as "parking hosts" (i think)...after mulling it over, weighing the credits, time blah, blah, blah and the comfort of the fraternity house (hot and cold running beer 24/7)..I, like an idiot, declined the acceptance and just went back to school for that particular semester...I have regreted it ever since...now I sit here and think about ways to begin a career with Disney when the golden ticket (Sorry for the Wonka reference) was once in my hand...
So, the moral of the story is go for it....

Me too! Unfortunetly, I can't get there from where I am right now... so, instead... I just torture my guests on the bus with my jungle cruise style jokes... I always get asked if I used to work there... :)

Congratulations!
I wish I did this while I was still in school. But what would they have done with a kid with a biochemistry and psychology double major? Put me in Honey I Shrunk the Audience?

Congrats! I'm not doing the WDWCP until next year, but I have some friends doing it this semester. Extensive acting background, huh? I've done some plays, but I wouldn't say my background was really extensive when it comes to that sort of thing, but I really want to do attractions.

Kudos to you! I did Jungle Cruise in 1992 (no Animal Kingdom back then). If I had to guess, you will probably go there or Kilimanjaro Safari. Both require a ton of cast members and require outgoing, energetic operators.

Congrats! One possiblity is the "presenter" role in Innoventions. It's a rather unique role, since the scripts frequently undergo substantial changes. It's probably as close as you'll get to acting without becoming an equity actor. When Innoventions first opened, there were no "presenters", they were full fledged actors! At some point, WDW decided to replace the actors with regular CMs, and came up with the "presenter" role. Most of the scripts are about 15 minutes long, and have to be memorized and recited verbatim. When I presented, I had the pleasure of working with about 5 CPs. So there's certainly a possibility you could end up there. If you have any more questions about Innoventions, let me know!

Hey hail2pitt - when/where did you work at Innoventions? See my sig below for my tenure there - epc0t

Congrats!

I wish I'd known of such a program when I was in school...I know I would have loved it, and I'm sure you will as well!

Have a great time and please tell us all about it! :sohappy:

I was a presenter at Medicines New Vision during the Spring Semester. From what i was hearing that venue, along with a few others, were not being renewed, so with a decrease in venues it will probably result in less presenter opportunities there. Also, only one of the CPs who worked with me at MNV had any acting experience, heck i had a huge fear of public speaking, so i think they will use his talents on something like kilamanjaro safaris.
if you have any questions about life as a CP dont hesitate to ask

High Spill

I would have to assume that a cast member working in a "high spill" position would be working in a food services or custodial position. Goofy knows that working in any food services department at WDW means being exposed to "high spill."
