I was told about the Hidden Mickey's during my last trip (December 2012). I am really excited to look for Mickey on my coming trip in May 2013 :) I know there are guidebooks to help, but are the Mickey's so hard to find that you need a Guide or is it more fun to do on your own ? Thanks in advance for advice :)

Some Hidden Mickeys are harder to find than others. The guidebook mentions many of the hard ones. I do not own the book, and I rarely look for such things, but if you are interested in finding them, I would say that the book would be a fun investment.

My nephew was really into this, so I got him the book. He loved it. It was both fun and annoying to have him always pointing out hidden Mickeys or what hidden Mickey's we would see or asking for help locating a hidden Mickey. But HE liked it and that is the most important thing. :)

Just be careful on one of the websites I saw it showed a picture of each hidden Mickey which can be a spoiler if you want to find it yourself. :)

My Wife did this on our last trip and had a blast. She had the book and it was a help. It also helped me because it enabled me to spend time taking pictures without her losing patience with me. If she wasn`t able to locate the hidden mickey she would have me take a picture of the area it was supposed to be. When we got home she would study the picture to see if she could find it.

The guy at the poly said there were X number of them in the picture on the wall. I never found them all.

My wife loves hunting Hidden Mickeys. We take a photo of everyone we find. She has the book and completed it. I prefer the ap because it updates and some of thrones in the book no longer exist due to remodeling. The ap will update and remove hidden mickeys that are no longer there and add the new ones that are.

Some, are very easy to find. Others not so much. Sadly, since they started to put them everywhere, it has taken some of the fun out of it. They used to be very subtle things that WDI would put in, but now there is a known market, many of the newer ones are pretty much in your face.

Personally, I think the book is kinda meh. Some of the ones they list, I wouldn't classify as a Mickey. And others? Not so hidden. I do give them credit for compiling them all, and it is a good resource for that, but I think the book needed to be "padded" out a bit to make it a real book and not just a pamphlet.

there's some that I have seen pictures of, gotten direction of where to look, and I STILL can't seem to find them! ARGH!!! Those are the ones I like to look for :) I totally agree that they should be actually "hidden" or subtle. Maybe the obvious ones are to get the tiny guys ready for the real ones ;)

I found on my last trip with my nieces that it was great to have the book to help pass time in line (if we had to wait). Sometimes there are Hidden Mickey's in the actual queue to look for and sometimes we would have my niece read to us where to look for HMs on the ride.

As another PP said, it did get a little annoying when they were pointing out every.single.Mickey we came across, but it was still fun!

If your excited about looking for Hidden Mickeys then I would say that it is a worthwhile purchase. I found that I never really broke it out on any trips, but I even just like looking through the book back at home to see what I haven't noticed on my trips.

There are lot's of great pictures of hidden Mickeys on the web as well. Enjoy your hunt, finding Hidden Mickeys is a fun adventure!
