I've just bought my tickets on-line and after reading some of the extracts and visiting the site, I gotta say that the 'Sweet 16' festivities look/sound incredible!

Coupled with a long, overdue return to the backlot (or hacklot!) I'm really excited about coming to Orlando this October!! The houses sound great...plenty of damp pants this year I predict! Has anyone encountered previous years versions of this years houses!? Not that they'll be the same but for a potential inside scoop...

Just wanted to voice my excitement...

Been going since 92, and have been a scareactor at the event since 2003... I've experienced all the houses before except for Run (from 2001 post-9/11)... They were all great and were the "best of the best" during their event... That's the reason they're all returning...

And since you expressed your view as the 'Hacklot' being more superior than that of IOA, can I ask you why you enjoy the Studios over the Islands? Personally, after experiencing many events at both parks, I still prefer the Islands...

Hey, alright! Someone else who likes to walk around damp-pantsed! Sweet! I thought it was just me and...oh, wait...erm...nevermind.

(Ahem, let's just try to steer this elsewhere, shall we?)

Though my experience ain't quite as prolific as JROK's, I can say with relative certainty that I've gone through three of the seven houses in the past (while damp-pantsed?...maybe...) - PsychoScareapy, All Nite DrIvE-In, and Screamhouse. And they all rock. Anything in particular you'd like to know?

First of all, to JROK...my preference for the Studio's over the Islands has no real significant explanation other than I prefer the theming of the Backlot for this kind of thing. Having said that, the one (and only) time I've ever experienced HHN before was way back in '96/97 (Studio's) so I have no real argument against the Islands!

As a side-note, has HHN always been a seperate ticket event!? As, back in 96/97 I seem to remember certain parts of the park were sectioned off for about 1-2 hours and re-opened as HHN - with any guests already in the park welcome to continue with no extra charge! Man, seeing the transformation for the first time was awesome...I just can't to get back and do it again!!

As for you PencilTest, there's no real shame in damp undies, my man. As long as we stick together on this, we'll be fine!!

I'm not really looking for any specific info...just hugely excited about coming back to Universal (well, Orlando in general!) and just wanted to grab a few other people's opinions on the return of some of the Haunted Houses!

For my money, RUN and PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS could be a bit too much for my taste! There's a certain amount of 'control' with some of the others but having to navigate yourself around in the dark...hmmmmm, I feel a little moist right now! Ha Ha

In reference to the seperate hard ticket event, yes it has always been a seperate ticket, ALTHOUGH they do offer what is called "Stay-N-Scream" to guests already in the park who also have tickets to HHN... With this guests are corraled into one specific part of the park, usually by a major attraction that remains open after normal park closure, and from there they can eat, ride the attraction, or watch the transformation... It's no extra charge for Stay-N-Scream and if you're an AP, I highly recommend it since you'll be able to access the houses prior to the 'official' opening time for the event...

I'm most looking forward to DoT as I think the idea of a run down fair haunted house sounds kinda neat... Although it will be nice to see PUTS utilize the Terror Mines hats from last year... The only house I never experienced out of these was Run, but I'm not really looking forward to it for some reason...
