I was there in May just after they re-opened. There are no visible changes to the grounds, main lobby, restaurant, pool, etc. Everything looks freshly painted and well manicured. The rooms have been changed pretty much 100%. Here's a list of changes from what I could see:
- Walls are now a powder blue with a new border of patterned wallpaper at the ceiling.
- Nice new carpet (to replace the old which always felt a little grimy on bare feet).
- New blue-green curtains and valance with French patterning.
- New bed spreads done in a busy, multi-colored, but appropriate Mardi Gras meets Disney theme, complete with harlequins, masks, and Hidden Mickey's.
- New elaborate cherry wood headboards on the beds.
- New lighting fixtures above the beds.
- New cherry wood night stand.
- The armoire has been replaced with a lower profile, but very elegant cherry wood dresser. TV sits on one end.
- New coffee makers and service tray also on the dresser.
- Table and chairs look the same but have been refinished to a cherry wood and reupholstered.
- A new, elegant oval vanity mirror replaces the old above the table and chairs.
- The historic cast member family portraits have been replaced by one large, beautifully ornate, framed print of concept artwork done by Herbert Ryman for New Orleans Square in Disneyland. A great work by a great artist, but this same print is featured in rooms at the Disneyland Hotel currently, as well.
- A semi-sheer, nicely patterned, peach colored curtain now separates the sink/dressing area from the bedroom area.
- The sink area is now tiled, with new tile continuing into the bathroom. Tile is primarily white with some green elements. This is a good change as the carpet around the sink was always prone to becoming damp.
- Shower curtains have been changed to a festive colorful pattern of reds and greens.
- The walls are no longer wallpapered in the bath area.
- New, gray marble slabs have been placed on the seating/ledge area in the shower, above the sinks, and as a transition strip on the floor between the tiled and carpeted areas.
Quite a few changes really. The rooms are beautiful and much more colorful than they were. The addition of the coffee service was very nice. The first few days of my visit, the coffee maker and condiments were just placed on the shelf in the closet area. But in the middle of my visit, I arrived back at the hotel in the middle of the day to find a few cast members going from room to room adding a cherry wood tray to the dressers and moving the coffee service there, near the only really convenient plug in the room. It was a very nice little touch.
