I know. I'm an admin of an online racing league. We had to throw a kid out for wrecking others on purpose, and when I did, he published a webpage with a public threat against me. I had to take legal action against him. His internet company revoked their service, as well as the webpage provider. Considering that was the only ISP in that city, I've never heard from him again.
Oh, and I'm sure Steve and the other Moderators/Administrators are looking for any more IP's that match or might be linked to this guy. So if you're involved, I'd suggest letting steve know now. Before it's too late.
Well you can always run a search on the IP address. It will tell you all about the IP/DNS and where it comes from. Try http://www.network-tools.com There you can find stuff out about IP's. You can also ping the IP (hehehe). Yes, there are many ways to fidn out about IP addresses. People think that the screen in front of them protects them. Too bad, a computer leaves finger prints at every site it visits.
Now logging IP's is good and all, and you can ban that IP. It works great for those who have used Broadband (static IP), but if they use dial-up its a new IP every time.
I dont think that you should take otu anger by spamming a Message Board with hate posts. Its just not right, there has to be something wrong with someone who does that.
