flower, since you apparently don't read or don't know how to read your personal messages, i thought i'd post the information i promised you about the courtyard by marriott here in case you're still interested.

there are two cbm's at wdw. i stayed at the one in the village (aka the courtyard in downtown disney or courtyard lake buena vista). there ain't much to tell. the rooms are clean, the breakfast buffet is overpriced but passable, the common areas look slightly dated but nothing horribly bad and the hotel staff is pleasant.

when we first checked in, they put us in a room on the 12th floor with two beds. the room smelled like chlorine. other than that, it was ok. they moved us to a room on the fifth floor with one king bed and there were no funky smells in the room. both were non-smoking rooms.

for comparison's sake, i would say the first room wasn't as clean as the average all-star resorts room, but the second room was a little bit nicer than the average all-star resorts room. it had a couch, good sized desk, ironing board, big mirrored closet doors and easily accessible power outlets and data ports -- none of which i used, btw; i'm just letting you know it's there.

the bus service was just fine, as well. buses would pick you up from the hotel about an hour before the parks opened and would run two hours after the parks closed. they would depart from the parks every quarter after and before the hour. the only one that was a little bit of a hassle was the bus to the magic kingdom. it dropped you off at the ticket and transportation center and you had to take the monorail (or ferry) to the park. no big deal real.

the only other thing i can think to tell you is that your dining options are severely limited at the courtyard. i guess there used to be a food court of some sort, but it wasn't there anymore. but you are just a 5- or 10-minute walk away from downtown disney, so, again, it's a small inconvenience.

in summary, i'd say it's a great place to stay if you can still get the $35 a night rate. but if the rate is about the same as what you'd pay at an all-star resort, i'd definitely go with the latter. hope that's helpful.

Dopey-

Check your mail. I figured it out! I'm so embarressed (picture Flower blushing!)

What we are ending up with is one night at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree. We originally booked a room for about $99. That was just after 9-11 I believe. With rates going crazy, I called down about 2 weeks ago and the rate for the same room is now $65.

I would change to one of the cheaper rooms in the area in a heart beat but the kids would be let down. The room we booked is a "Queen Suite" especially set up for little girls. Of course they know all about it and would be very disappointed if we switched.

I'm going to call one more time before we leave to see if the price has dropped again. I never thought of staying at AS resorts.

Dopey, thanks again for the heads up!!!!:king:
