My homemade Strat stays standard, Fender Supersonic goes to E flat, my Parker is dropped D, and my Ibanez is well... B sharp (I use 13 gauge strings on that one... to hell with a bass player!). My acoustic is E flat.

Oh yeah.. I might be going on to Guitar #6 soon... I want me a PRS!

Only got one Ibanez and it fluctuates between standard & dropped-D.

I personally don't like PRS, I think they are way overpriced. Nice look, but too much. I'd much rather go for an imitation PRS (Schecter, among others) for about $400. I feel the same about Fenders too... your paying for a name.

Well, my Strat was made from a TON of spare parts, and a real Fender Neck (off a custom shop strat), so I didn't spend more than $600 total... most of the money was spent on the neck (bought it off my High School band teacher... apparently, he was allergic to the Tung Oil... haha! Maple w/ Ebony fretboard), the body is a Warmoth body (nothing too special... just Alder), the pickups are all duncan, w/ a Wilkinson bridge and Gotoh tuners. The Supersonic cost me $375, and I changed the pickups and bridge saddles.

The parker cost me a TON... like $1100, but worth every penny. I love that guitar, and my back loves it too (weighs 3 1/2 lbs). The Ibanez was $200 at a Pawn Shop.. it's a Talman (HIPPIE GUITAR!) and it has P90's which buzz like hornets. I'm probably going to end up redoing the electronics, to make it less noisy.

When in doubt go with dropped D. That's what most mainstream bands are using nowadays. I only have one bass my self...I find it a pain having to tune up or down just to play a diferent song.
