Help!!!

Okay everyone, my mouse is unhooked and when I plug it back in, it doesn't work.
I have to do everything with the keyboard right now and for some reason, my computer's color is set really low (like 16 bits or something)
and I really don't know what to do. My mom still has to do online Christmas shopping and it will be a real pain in the if she has to do it all by keyboard.
I have no idea what's going on.
If this helps, my mouse is a Logitech Cordless Optical Mouse

Plug in the mouse, make sure it's plugged in CORRECTLY (look at the little holes), and then RESTART the computer with the mouse plugged in.

That's all I know.

That,or use any of those laptops with a finger mouse.(you move your finger and the cursor moves and there's a button below it to click)

Does it take batteries? Try checking them.
