Hi, me and my husband are going on 14 Oct for 8 days staying at All Stars. We are on the dining plan and decided where to reserve tables. We thought to do a park during the day, have a rest in the afternoon then have our meal and visit another park during the evening. Were planning some free time but conscious we want to see and do as much in the time were there. We are only doing Disney this time and using their transport to get around. We also plan to do Cirque@DTD and Mickeys Not So Scarey party. Thanks in advance!

Are we planning on doing too much?
Based upon what you've said, no.

I'd probably do 3 or 4 full park days and then have a rest day, rather than into the parks, back to the resort, back into the parks again before back to the resort for bed. That's double the amount of travelling a day that you need to do and it will impact on your time in the parks.

Know your personal touring style. Trying to do full (open to close) park days can be exhausting, especially in the heat when you just want to take a shower and a nap. At the same time, I think a full rest day is a waste because adding extra park days to your ticket is really cheap. Rather than taking a full day off, I'd suggest a couple of half days. Spend an evening at your resort or sleep in every couple of days.

It may sound inviting to sleep in a few days, but the crowds are much smaller when the park opens than later in the day. If you could be at the park when it opens, then go back to your resort to rest in the afternoon, it might be better, if you want to avoid the crowds. (as much as you can at WDW :)) Enjoy your trip!

We will be there for 7 days from the 9th October. Nice to have long lies while on hols but mornings are a great time to get a lot of things done in the parks. We planning rope drop each day and maxing out our time at the parks. October hours are shorter than summer. AK closes at 6 when we're there and MK at 7 several nights due to MNSSHP (10 when not). HS closed by about 7 most nights and Epcot by 9. I know lots like a mid-day break but we prefer park time!! As has been said, going back and forwards from parks to your resort can really eat into your day, especially if parks are closing early evening, but it is all down to what you want to get done and how much time you want to spend at the parks. We are planning to spend the afternoon we arrive at our resort and then a few early evenings to take advantage of the pool. Some early nights will keep us fresh(ish)! Have a fab time.
