Help with dining plan points?

We like the fine restaurants at WDW. We have booked ADR for our 8 day stay. Now I have the problem that we won't have enough points for all our restaurants. Can we go to a restaurant and only use some of the points from the plan and pay for some of the meals, or do all of the meals have to come off the meal plan?

I believe you just have to tell the waiter/waitress when they start to serve you that this will be on the meal plan.

Yup, you don't have to limit yourself to the number of points you have for your meals. Believe me, Disney will be more than pleased to take more of your money!! :lol:

But, say we have 20 meals left on the card, but we only want to use one or two meals off of meal plan and pay for the other two, at the same meal. Will this confuse them. I would rather pay for the buffets and save the meal plan for later in the week when we will be going to the finer restaurants.

Will this be too confusing for them. When they go to take care of our bill and see that we have so many points left will they just take the whole bill and charge it to our meal plan and leave us no points to use later.

What I need to know is that when everyone is eating together do all the meals have to be taken off the meal plan or can we pay for three meals with cash and have one taken off the meal plan.

I know this is confusing, I am so confused trying to make this work.

Ask for a separate check for the ones you want to pay for.

Thanks! That sounds easy, not to complicated. I was thinking that all at the table would go on the same bill. But if I ask for separate bills at the beginning of the meal all should go as planned. Thank you again.

We shared meals a few times -- and it worked out great.
