Help with BW

I'm curious to get feedback on thoughts regarding the Boardwalk Inn. I have stayed at the WL and loved the decor, but thought the restaurants were so-so. We stayed last year at the AKL and loved the savannah views and enjoyed the restaurants, but thought the resort was a little removed from the parks. My thought is that I'd love to keep trying out the various hotels, so we are considering the BW for this year. However, I don't want to get there and wish I was at the AKL or WL. Any thoughts?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the BW, YC & BC don't have restaurants/food courts as such.

For the most part, you have to go out to the Boardwalk for morning coffee, etc.

I guess it is no different from being at, say, the Polynesian, and having to walk from your building to the GCH for food, but it seems different to me.

That was what I loved about Wilderness Lodge--even if it was raining/cold/hot, it was a (short!) inside walk to the Roaring Forks snacks.

They have restaurants, but no food court or quick service food area. I think the boardwalk has a bakery though. This is what has been keeping me from going to the Beach Club. Kind of a hassle when you don't have anywhere for quick food or an easy place to fill your refillable mug.

Love Those Epcot Resorts!

If you are an Epcot or MGM person, you'll love the Boardwalk Inn, or the Yacht or Beach Clubs for that matter.

The food choice is great if you like table service (I do). The benefit is the quick walk or boat to Epcot or MGM. The Boardwalk area itself is lots of fun, with busker style entertainment, a dueling pianos bar, surrey bikes for rent, etc.

I'm not a coffee drinker, but it seems to me that one of the bars is set up for coffee in the AM, to fill your refillable mugs. Can anyone confirm that?

All 3 are lovely resorts, I know you'd like them.

If you decide not to stay there, next time you're at Epcot, take 30 minutes out of your day to exit through the International Gateway, between France & England and stroll around Cresent Lake to snoop around the Boardwalk Inn, the Yacht Club or the Beach Club.

I'm staying at the Boardwalk in June. They have a bakery (next to Spoodles) and 2 really good restaurants. Spoodles, which serves a mixture of mediteranean(sp?) type food and the Flying Fish which serves seafood. They also have the Big River Grille and Brewing works, which creates their own ale an you can observe them making it and even sample it if you wish. They serve sandwiches and such. The ESPN Club which does the typical burgers and sandwiches and the sweet shop that sells saltwater taffy, ice cream and frozen yogurt, etc. Spoodles also has a take our window for pizza!

Not to mention the fabulous Yachtman's Steakhouse at the YC and the Cape May clam bake style buffet at the BC. Oh yea! And Beaches & Cream at the BC, home of the famous "Kitchen Sink" sundae!

There is a little restaurant at BC/YC near the health club where you can refill your mug. I don't know what time it opens, but it's a grill and they serve ice cream. You can refill your mug there. At busy times service is SLOOOW.

BTW, Boardwalk is lots of fun. You should try it They've got live entertainers at night and a festive atmosphere. Even if you end up liking your "old" resort better, you won't be sorry for trying Boardwalk.
