My husband and I (69 & 75) are planning a trip to WDW for 2 weeks the end of August-September. We planned a trip a few years ago but we could not go as my husband had most of his foot amputated. In planning the canceled trip we had purchased $1000 in Disney gift cards and gift cards to a number of restaurants in Orlando. We have invested the money and would like to visit so it is all not wasted.
We have Pixie AP so we can only enter the parks on weekdays. BUT we can only make park entrance reservations for 3 days. At what point can we make reservations for additional days? We don’t ride hardly any rides, we just like “seeing the parks, we really like EPCOT and want to make reservations for some of the nice restaurants.
What are the chances we can get an entrance reservation and then a dinner reservation?
Due to age and health we usually enter the parks early afternoons to closing. We love the fireworks and parades.
I have no idea what Genie is but I am not paying for anything else. And we could care less about rides.
Please help

Folks please correct me if I am wrong -

Firstly, I think you can apply online for DAS before your trip.

Once you have that, I do not think you will need to mess with Genie. I think once you are enrolled in DAS, you can go to guest services in the parks and get return times for rides you want to ride.

You made your three park pass reservations, then after you use your first you can make a new one, so you are always holding three.

As for reservations, you will need to get ADRs ahead of time, getting them the day of is very hard.

If you are dining in a park you will need a park pass reservation to get into a the park.

If your in park ADR is before 2PM you must have a park pass reservation for that park.

If your in park ADR is after 2PM, you can hop to the park your ADR is in.

I did not look, but I am guessing the Pixie AP allows park hopping?

My biggest suggestion is to register for the DAS.

Agree about registering for DAS if you qualify. I think you can do that 30 days before your trip, but I haven’t done it myself so I’m not 100% on that.

You can make dining reservations 60 days in advance. You don’t need a park reservation to MAKE the reservation, but you do need a park reservation on the day of your reservation. As @Disstevefan1 said, you can park hop after 2pm (current park hopping rules—theoretically they could change). Pixie passes do have park hopping.

So you need:
If the dining reservation is before 2pm, a park reservation in the SAME park
If the dining reservation is after 2PM, a park reservation for ANY park

I hope, though I don’t know, that you should be ok making park reservations day-by-day at the end of August. Labor Day weekend might be more crowded if you’re there at that time.

Are you staying on or off property?

Off property. We have an emotional support cat . She helps my husband sleep, greatly curbs his PTSD and nerve jumping in his leg. Disney property will not let us bring her.
Ok. I wanted to make sure that you weren’t staying at one of the Disney hotels or one of the Disney approved hotels. If you were, you would have been able to make more park reservations.

Thank you, very much. You are all very kind to help us. I am quite sure this will be our last trip to WDW. We have mobility scooters and have done fine with them in the past. So we are assuming there will be no problem with them. Our Pixie passes allow for free parking.
We stay over by Sands Road, near the ICON park. We have restaurants in that area that we like. Most of the rides are out for us as my husband has had a heart attack in the past.
We enjoy the beauty of the parks, watching little kids having fun and the atmosphere. And since my husband's major surgery we have not be able to go anywhere not even for a weekend. We are excited to have a 'trip' to look forward to. It took from May 2017 until July 2021 for the surgical wound to heal and stay healed. We have been blessed with great doctors. We both deserve a bit of fun time.
