Help picking a deluxe for split stay disneymoon!

My fiancé and I are planning our trip for November 12-22 to Disney for our honeymoon! We are going to be doing a split stay between a moderate and deluxe (there's no way we could afford a deluxe for 10 days). As far as the moderate we are at a toss up between pofq and cs. But where I really need our help is picking between wilderness lodge or animal kingdom lodge.. We fell in love with both during our last visit. I am looking for the pros/cons of both please! We are going to be doing 6 nights at the moderate and 4 nights at the deluxe. An important part of this trip will be to have some down time to enjoy resort amenities (pool, hot tub, bar, room service for breakfast). We found our last trip we were always on the go, and would like to have a day or two of relaxing! Any feed back on the resort rooms, dining options (we usually have breakfast at the resort before hitting the parks), amme kites, transportation etc wold be great!

We've stayed at both AKL and WL, and WL is our favorite, but not by much. We loved AKL for many reasons, and will stay there again, but you can't beat the proximity to the parks at WL. AKL is very cool -IF- you can get a savanna view room, but WL has the ferry boats, which are great!

AKL has probably the best dining options out of the two, and it is fun walking around and exploring the resort, but WL has the edge for us, particularly all decked out for Xmas. If you do choose AKL, bring your binoculars! Either way, you'll have a great time!

WL hands down. The Christmas decorations will be put up some time during your honeymoon and they are spectacular. We were there in November 2010 ~ went to sleep one night and awakened the next morning to find the entire resort all decked out. Magical!

First off...Congratulations! :D

I think I would also have to give the edge to the Wilderness Lodge over Animal Kingdom Lodge. During your Disneymoon, the WL will be all decked out in its Christmas decorations and it is just so beautiful. The AKL has a nice tree but I think the WL wins in the decorations department. As others have mentioned, the WL location is really great and you are closer to a lot of the action than you would be at AKL. Being able to take a boat to the MK is pretty hard to beat.

AKL has Jiko, which is a wonderful restaurant, but I still think I would choose WL over AKL. Hope this helps you with your decision!

Congrats!:D
WL is very serene. If you like MK, then the boat ride over is quite convenient! If you're going to celebrate @ the HoopDeeDoo Musical Revue, then the boat also goes over to Fort Wilderness where you can have a very romantic carriage ride!;) Also, Artist Point is a nice signature restaurant.:)
If AK is where you like best, then AKL is where you should stay. Jiko is a great signature restaurant. Boma is buffet style for breakfast and dinner! Very yummy! Sanaa is nice too! I guess I'd splurge a bit and book a savannah view room that is farther away form the main area for more privacy!:)

WL...but I have never stayed there or even visited the resort yet:(..it is in future plans. I have stayed at AKL, in a poolview room. I would only stay at AKL again for the grandkids and only for the weekend during the summer so they could have a blast at the pool again. So far hands down AKL has the best pool activities and nicest resort people. However the decor is dark, the WIFI did not work at all in the room I had, and some rooms don't have dressers which I had one of those too making it difficult for my party of 4 to stay organized for the 3 days we did at that resort. As mentioned before the restaurants are excellent at AKL. I vote BOMA best buffet and Sanaa was excellent.
Congrats!

Firstly- congrats!!!!

Second, tough choice b/c both resorts have AMAZING trees and both should be going up during your stay. If you're planning on using your deluxe time as relaxation time where you enjoy what your resort has to offer, I think I'd be more inclined to go with AKL. While WL affords a pleasant boat ride to the Monorail resorts and opens up a world of dining options, I like the idea of having Boma, Jiko and Sanaa so close.

Thanks everyone, I think I'm leaning towards wilderness lodge. Any suggestions on room location? Any reviews on roaring fork?
