Help on Restaurant Choices

Me and my husband are actually going out alone for one evening while we are there in November. We have narrowed it down to a few in Downtown Disney.....We want to play at Disney Quest for a while so would like something close by... we narrowed it down to these:
Capn Jacks, Wolfgang Puck, Portobello Yacht Club, Bongos, and House of Blues

We want different and we want fun and casual. Any input on these??

My wife and I got food poisoning from Wolfgang Puck's last time we were there. It lasted about 72 hours and ruined the last part of our vacation, so I'm not recommending eating there as my wife and I have replaced the "p" in Pucks with an "s" every time we refer to it. I also haven't tried Capn Jacks. I can say that my favorite is the Portobello Yacht Club. It's more upscale casual than HoB. Both HoB and Bongos are good as well depending on what your tastes are. Check out www.wdwig.com and look at their menus to help you decide.

We at at Captain Jack's and loved it. We had a table by the window so we were able to watch everything going on outside on the water, etc. The food was terrific. Get the crab cakes...they are to die for.

Enjoy your trip!:)

Planet Hollywood? I ate at the one in Disneyland Paris and was surprised how tasty the food was - I had a chicken pasta dish.

I was expecting an overpriced burger bar and ended up with some top noch chow.

WoW! You've all been soo helpful. Thanks for all the great advice... I'm leaning towards HOB myself and was glad to hear no complaints on the place.
Thanks everyone! :D

Try House of Blues.

It's casual...differant..and fun.

The Staff is friendly and helpfull.

Lots of differant things to try on the menu, but nothing outragious.

Great atmosphere...lots to see while you are waiting for your meal.

And it's not nearly as expensive there as you might think.

Enjoy...we'll be eating there in October :sohappy:

I think Captin Jacks is one of the hidden or often over looked gems of DTD. That is were we eat every sit down meal at DTD, we have never had a wait to get in and always had good service and food. It has nice veiw of the water.

I really recomend Captin Jacks.

However I don't really want it to get too popular. I kinda like it being our little secret.

I ate at Portobello last November and it was excellent. I also ate at Panet Hollywood which was pretty bad foodwise and incredibly noisy. Fulton's was good also. Enjoy your trip. I'm looking forward to trying DQ when I am there in November. Joni

This is another vote for Captain Jack's.

We try to avoid chains that have outlets near us, so we tend to shy away from House of Blues.

I have heard only wonderful things about Portobello, but I haven't eaten there so I can't share a personal experience.
