Finding out there is a 3 park unlimited ticket (hoping I'm calling it by the right name) is putting a monkey wrench in my plans! I've already booked a lovely condo for our trip, so staying on property is out! If we got those tickets how many days should we do to really see everything in both parks (2 Potter heads in tow) We would not be going into W&W. THNX

Are you a big Harry Potter fan? Last September going on every thing at least once with out going in the Harry Potter section with all the stores and gringotts ride was about 2 days ,if you want to do Harry Potter I would add on at least 1/2 day because there is a lot. I walked through and just looking at the windows not going into any thing was 2 hours. Have fun!!

That's 2 whole weeks right? You really don't need that many days in the park, and you should at least go to Wet and Wild once to try it out. Honestly 3 days is plenty, maybe 2 for each park and one dedicated to Potter.

My boys are BIG Potter fans and will also want to spend a good deal of time in the shops and going around with the interactive wands. We were thinking 4 days and now were not sure if we should a another 1 or 2.

Don't worry, 4 days should be plenty. It's a perfect amount of time to enjoy all the Potterverse in an unhurried manner, and still see all the non-Potter attractions, spend time exploring Jurassic Park etc.

It's pretty standard in Orlando to offer 14 day unlimited tickets because many visitors from overseas come for two week vacations, so it's a ploy to get them to return to spend an extra day at a park they enjoyed early in the trip before they head home, instead of giving a day to a rival, but it doesn't mean there's 14 days worth of activities in the parks.

After 4 days you will be able to say you have "done" Universal and have to wait til next year to come back to anything new. (And what a new that will be!) If 4 days is an option you should do that.

If you want to double up on Potter then you can certainly spend that much time between the three parks. Makes for a leisurely "touring" experience rather than trying to cram it all in and when you want to re-ride you can because you don't have to "be" somewhere at a certain time.

If you're going to purchase anything higher than a 4-day ticket I recommend going with the 3 park unlimited. It's actually a great deal when you think about it. You have access to all three parks for 14 days, so if you wanted to just grab dinner at Universal one night and spend the rest of the day elsewhere you have that option. There's also the Orlando Flex Ticket which is pretty cool since it gets you into Universal Studios, Islands, Wet n Wild, Aquatica, and SeaWorld for 14 days if you were interested in going into any of those parks.

I had the same thought about this and when I found out that the Multi day is a few dollars less then a 4 day park-to-park pass..Think of it more as a 2 week long Season pass...And if your a AAA Member and purchase through their site you will be able to print out a voucher to show to get your meal & Merchandise discounts..

I think 4 days is perfect. Especially for Potter heads, you'll want to enter every single shop and eatery and explore every nook and cranny of the place. There is detail everywhere. I'm still finding new things after quite a few visits to Diagon Alley.

the longest stretch we've stayed was 7 days at HRH (UOR parks only). However, we are not the commando style park-goers like some people are. We go to the parks for a bit, go to the pool, watch a movie, go back to the parks after the sun goes down, etc. I wouldn't consider putzing around like we do without EP though- I KNOW we will get on the things we want to do. I think 4 days is perfect- and if you don't get to see everything, you will have something to look forward to when you do make it back. The lines for Olivander's are hideous. I still have never been (mainly because I can't drag my butt out of bed for early entry). Stop overthinking- I PROMISE you will have a fabulous time!

THNX It's almost hard not to over think after going to Disney. LOL I'm glad you mentioned going to Olivander's early as my boys would wait on line for a week just to get a wand.

If you do Olivanders in USF the wait is very short

Yup the longest Ollivanders line is in Hogsmeade, but Diagon Alley's moves very quick, and is more accurate to the books anyway I believe!

You can get so used to the extreme preparation needed for a Disney vacation that not having to do any planning for Universal can make one feel a little anxious, it shows what a good job Disney has done of convincing us that it's somehow normal to plan what you want to eat or what we want to ride on a particular day months in advance!

Not having to do any of that, and having plenty of time to enjoy the details, can only result in a very, very relaxed and enjoyable trip.

THNX! According to their special diets people I was told to book dining reservations at least 48 hours out due to allergies. Oh well I guess there will be some planning.

Yeah that would be the exception, although even that's not essential. I suspect lots of the time you will want to eat in the Potter restaurants which don't take reservations - Universal isn't anywhere near as big on table service meals as WDW is.

At any Universal restaurant, table or quick, they will usually have allergy ingredient lists and you can always ask to speak to a chef or manager though who will advise on what they can produce to cater for allergies, so nobody is going to refuse you if you didn't call ahead or if your plans change. It really is the easiest resort to freestyle in!
