Help Needed with 12/09 Trip Planning and MYW Packages

Hello all!

I'm back after a somewhat long hiatus and looking forward to planning our next trip this December from early to mid-month. I'm living in Hawaii now so it's so much more complicated than just being in the Pacific North West. Because of how far we're going to have to travel from and also as this will be our only "just us" family vacation I want it to be long and really nice.

We're huge Disney dining freaks (love the food!) so we really want to sign up for the MYW + Deluxe DP with staying 2 weeks. Online at the DW website though, it only allows for us to choose 10 day park passes but you're allowed to stay 2 weeks at the hotel...

So here are my questions:

Is it possible to get 14 day passes by upgrading at Guest Relations? If so, does this upgrade your dining plan to 14 days too or is that already automatic by the nights we'll be at the hotel?

If not, if we wanted to go more than 10 days at the parks does that mean we have to buy additional 4 day passes? If this is true, I'd just forget it at that point and just stay the 10 days.

Any help you all could provide would be greatly appreciated :sohappy:

Welcome back! Disney does not sell a 14 day ticket to US residents. You may want to look into purchasing an annual pass if you plan to visit for 2 weeks. With an AP, you can purchase a special package called the passholder + dine package. It is basically a MYW package but without tickets. There were some pretty steep AP room discounts last December, which you would be eligible for, even if you choose to add the dining plan. Or, you can always stick with the 10 day ticket and just do "non-park" things on the other 4 days. Downtown Disney, resort hopping, etc. Good luck with your decision!

You can book 14 nights' stay with Dining plan and spend 10 days in the four main parks and the other four in the water parks, DTD or doing other things in the area. You 10-day tickets are good for 10 days' admission any time within 14 days of first use and DDP is based on your number of nights at a resort regardless of how many days' tickets you have.

I tried to find if there was some limit to the total days of DDP you could have and couldn't find anything. Maybe JPVonDrake might know [he's usually the best source for that kind of info].

Since the maximum resort room reservation is 14 nights, and DDP is tied to the number of resort room nights, the maximum nights of DDP is also 14. You would need to make more than 1 reservation to get more nights.

Sounds great! Thanks for the awesome advice everyone :D

Sounds like it's 10 days at WDW then. DH should be happy he won't have to take so much time off work then

With such a long trip from Hawaii to WDW, will you be visiting the park on your first and last day? Personally, I would take a 12 day trip, with the first and last day being travel/non-park days - and maybe even a "down" day in the middle.

You know, I've changed my mind. This sounds really interesting and possibly even more affordable than my original planning. I'll look into it though thanks.

I'm splitting up our traveling to two different days so it won't be so bad. We always sleep in (oy, though, the time difference is going to be atrocious), take breaks at the hotel in the afternoon for showers and naps, and plus I'm sure things will be even slower than that with our 19 month old!

The there's the bonus with the dates I have planned, we'll be back in time for 2 sets of "three day weekends" with Christmas and New Years, so it should be a really laid back month, even with all our traveling!
